"Anything. You name it and I shall get it for you," I said.

"What I need isn't going to be easy," He said. "It's on Earth."

Earth? My heartbeat quickened. This was going to be much more than a basic mission. The Terruxians did not get involved with Earthling often, outside of mining agreements. What did he want from that blue planet?

"I will go wherever you send me, sir," I said.

"Excellent," The Commander said. He slapped my shoulder and pointed to the biggest screen in his room. He spoke a numerical code so quickly I couldn't remember it.

The screen flickered and a picture of a human female appeared. She was conventionally beautiful. She was shorter in stature, with full child-bearing hips, long auburn hair, and a sun-kissed tan.

"I need you to retrieve this for me," The Commander said.

"Sir?" I didn't understand. The Earthlings did not trade their people and slavery was looked down upon in our galaxy, unless it was for punishment. When our people first came to Earth, there were many abductions which caused unnecessary stress for both sides. Over the years, we'd settled into a truce, based on our mutual need for mineral resources.

"This is a celebrity on Earth named Greta Yurk. She's an actress and I want her for my harem," The Commander explained.

I swallowed hard. Most Terruxian males never even found their fated mate, but higher-ups like the Commander had droves of females from across the galaxy to satisfy their carnal needs.

"I know the treaties look down on this sort of thing, but how much could one human be missed?" The Commander chuckled. "That's why I need you to go to Earth and abduct her for me."

I nodded. The punishment for disobeying orders was death, or worse. I had no choice but to go along with his plan, even if it went against the law.

"I will ensure you are outfitted with the proper technology and gear to make this mission successful," The Commander said. "But, if you are sworn to secrecy, understood?" He looked at me intensely.

I nodded again. "Yes, sir," I said. "I will bring this human back to the space station for you. It is my honor to be chosen for such an important mission."

The Commander slapped my shoulder again. "Good. Your leader told me you'd comply. He also said there is no finer warrior this side of Saturn. Your infiltration skills are some of the best."

"Thank you."

"Also, don't think there isn't anything in it for you," The Commander said.

"Serving the people of Terrux is enough for me," I said.

The Commander chuckled. "You warriors are always so modest. But, I still will offer you a prize for successfully delivering the actress to me. If you succeed, I will award you by increasing your rank, your pay, and your living quarters."

"Thank you," I said. The thought of not nearly hitting my head off the ceiling every morning was tempting. Maybe I'd get a porthole bigger than my hand if I was lucky. I did like to watch Mars float by every morning.

"You will leave immediately. I have prepared a briefing video for you and your shuttle is waiting in the hangar," The Commander said.

The screen flickered and went back to showing security camera footage.

The mission was dangerous, secretive, and could get the Earthlings mad, but it was an honor to be chosen. Being rewarded with a promotion only added to the appeal.

I couldn't turn it down. I nodded my head to the Commander and left without another word.

I went straight to the hangar where a team was waiting to outfit me with a translator and all the other tools I would need for the mission. The team of three circled around me, all of them muttering instructions and adding random tools to my utility belt.

The scientist pressed a small device in my hand. The metal ring beeped and rolled over one of my fingers, tightening to a perfect fit.

"What's this?" I asked.

"A cloaking device. It will make you appear as human, which will be essential while you are amongst the Earthlings."

I wrinkled my nose. The thought of taking a human form was not ideal for me.

"You won't lose your strength," The scientist added, as if reading my thoughts. "It is all an illusion. We would never develop something that would weaken you."
