My heart plummeted into my stomach. "What?" I couldn't believe my ears.

"You're fired, Lola," Greta said with a smirk. "Unless you want to stay on to be my personal water bottle collector."

I felt as if she'd slapped me across the face.

"Shooting for this movie is pretty much done. We will cancel your contract tomorrow," The agent said with a fake apologetic look. "We really appreciate what you've done for us, but now Lola needs to take her next steps. We need an artificial double in order to meet safety standards."

Greta flipped her hair back and walked away with a happy skip in her step. She was ecstatic and I couldn't blame her. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her.

"I'll send your last check in the mail," The agent said.

I watched him leave in stunned silence.

"Well, fuck," I mumbled to myself.

CHAPTER THREE

- ZEYSOR -

WHEN I landed on Earth over twelve hours later, I was pleased to find that the coordinates were about as perfect as they could get.

The small shuttle touched down undetected in a rocky, mountainous area overlooking the city. The climate was dry and desert-like, but not nearly as uncomfortable as the deserts on Mars.

I activated the cloaking device on my shuttle and then glanced down at the ring. That feeble scientist said the ring would work just like any other camouflage, and it would allow me to blend it completely. I'd look like a human to anyone who saw me.

I grimaced at the thought, but what choice did I have? I twisted the ring to activate it. An electric feeling crept over my thick skin for a moment and then faded as quickly as it came. I opened my eyes and gasped at my reflection.

The mirror reflected the image of a human man, still tall and muscular, by human standards. Human flesh was so weak and soft-looking.

I shuddered. I had to push through my disgust in order to get the human woman for my Commander.

Bracing myself for the heat, I let the shuttle door open with a hiss. Thankfully, the Earth environment was not hostile, and the air was breathable for my kind. It made things much easier when I didn't have to wear heavy protective gear.

I checked the illusion once more before pulling out my communicator. The coordinates of the actress' workplace and home were loaded in. The directions were sending me to some place call TT Studios.

The sun beat down. It was hotter here than on Mars; of course, it was, considering how many thousands of miles closer it was to the star. I couldn't dwell on that now, I had to complete my mission and bring the actress back to my Commander.

"GPS tracking activated. Destination: TT Studios," The computer said into my ear piece.

I looked out to the skyline beyond the rocky hills and started walking.

***

This heat was killing me. Although I was a Terruxian Hunter, this Earthling heat was more than unpleasant.

My communicator beeped in my ear periodically as I got closer and closer to the actress' workplace. This TT Studios place, whatever that was. The entertainment industry on Earth was more lively than what we had on my home planet of Terrux.

Finally, after hours, I found the place. A gleaming sign above a tall fence read TT STUDIOS. The sun was setting, and it was just dark enough for the sign to be flickering blue. The gates were shut and locked. A guard was stationed in a small box outside of the fence.

I glanced down at myself to ensure the cloaking ring was still working before approaching the guard's box.

"Excuse me, sir," I said. The translator chip attached to my gear sent signals between us to ensure smooth conversation.

The guard blinked when I spoke. It was common for there to be a slight delay with the translation technology, unless whoever I was speaking to was outfitted with a receiver, the technology depended on the person's brainwaves. This guy didn't seem to be the smartest human.

"Yes, how can I help you?" The man said finally.

"I am looking for an actress named Greta Yurk."
