She giggles like I’m joking and follows me into the bathroom.
“I actually don’t think you’re a full Domme, though. Probably more of a switch.”
“Oh yeah?” She steps into the shower when I open the door for her. “What makes you say that?”
I step inside and reach around her to flip the water on. “Because you love when I call you my dirty girl.”
Her breath catches. “Perhaps.”
I spend the next hour showing her exactly what I mean.
I feel Hazel’s eyes on me from across the room where she sits at her computer. When I look up from working on tweaking the melody for the song I’m writing, she glances back down quickly. Her cheeks flush a pretty pink as she shrinks behind the screen.
“Stop looking at me,” she says quietly.
“You were looking at me first,” I reply. “Can I help you with something?”
“No. I was zoning out while I thought through a scene. You just happened to be in my line of sight.”
“Right.” I smirk at her. “That’s why you were blushing, too, I’m sure.”
“I was blushing because I’m writing a sex scene.”
I go still, setting the guitar aside. “Tell me more.”
“No.” She holds up a hand to stop me as I stand. “Stay on your side of the room. I have to work, and I can’t handle another orgasm. I think it’s physically impossible for me to come again.”
“Interesting theory. Let’s test it out.” I take another step.
She laughs. “Absolutely not. Do I need to get Dan in here to protect me from you?”
“I employ him. He wouldn’t stop me.” That’s obviously not true; I gave him explicit instructions that I might cut his paycheck, but her safety is his only priority.
“At least let me finish this scene and then feed me first.”
“Are you hungry?” I glance at the clock on the microwave. “It’s almost dawn. We could run out to the diner on the corner before the morning rush.”
“I am hungry, but let me finish this scene.”
“I’ll wake up Dan and Adam to let them know.”
By the time she finishes writing, they’re both at the door, looking wide awake and intimidating as hell. She grabs one of my hoodies and pulls it over the tank top she’s been wearing before either of them see her arms. It kills me that she still hides herself from the world, but at the same time, I love being one of the chosen few who she trusts with all of herself.
I pull my baseball cap low over my eyes as we walk out onto the street in front of the hotel. There are only a few people out and about, so I’m not that worried about being seen. I grab Hazel’s hand and link our fingers. The move must surprise her because she glances up at me with wide, questioning eyes.
I bring her knuckles to my lips, pressing a soft kiss there as we wait at the crosswalk. It blows my mind that simple gestures like this always shock her. It’s like she doesn’t understand that if I could claim her publicly, I would. From the bits and pieces she’s shared about her relationship with her professor, I’m sure she’s just used to being a dirty secret.
I’d scream from the rooftop that she’s mine if she’d let me. If it wouldn’t scare her away, but I’m not sure she’s ready for that yet. I truly believe she has no clue how deep my feelings for her run. I’ve never been a patient man, but I’ll do anything for her, including hold myself back.
I hold the door open for her as we reach the diner. As soon as the scent of frying bacon hits my nostrils, my stomach growls. I realize I haven’t eaten anything since before the concert last night.
A woman calls out from behind the counter to seat ourselves while she rolls silverware. We grab the corner booth, and I takea seat with my back to the rest of the mostly empty diner. Hazel sits across from me, Dan next to her and Adam by me.
The server comes over with four mugs and a pot of coffee. She passes out sticky, laminated menus to each of us while she rattles off the specials to us. My stomach growls as I look through the options. Adam pours each of us coffee without even looking at the menu which means he’s ordering the same thing he always does, a creature of habit if ever there was one.
None of us really speak until she comes back to take our order. If she recognizes me, she doesn’t say anything, but her eyes do linger on Hazel for a second. I don’t blame her, Hazel is looking exceptionally gorgeous this morning; after a night of fucking and writing, she still looks completely fresh faced.
“Sorry for pulling you two out of bed so early,” Hazel says to Adam and Dan.
