Keys jangled and a door was unlocked. Whoever carried me walked up several wooden steps and across a wooden floor.
The door was closed behind us and locked with an ominous couple of clicks.
I was carried deeper into the structure and lowered down. I found something soft under me. A mattress.
I couldn't help the shiver of fear that passed through me. I was right. They'd brought me here to rape me. If I had to guess, I'd bet we were a long way from anything or anyone. If I screamed, no one would hear. Should I try anyway?
No, I had to keep myself contained. Pretend I wasn't scared out of my wits.
The mattress dipped as a heavy body lay down beside me and placed a hand on my hip. Reflexively, I flinched. Tried to roll away. They grabbed me and pulled me back.
"Where do you think you're going?" A male voice growled.
I froze.
What the fuck?
"What the fuck? Storm?"
The hood was yanked up over my head, messing my hair. I looked over into his amused, stormy grey eyes.
"Who else? No one is allowed to kidnap you but us." He jerked his head to the other five guys, who sat or stood beside the mattress.
I struggled to sit up, my hands still bound behind my back. "You scared the shit out of me. I thought you were—" I blinked back ridiculous tears. Why was I crying right now?
Frost and Dallas came to sit on either side and wind their arms around me.
"We didn't mean to scare you," Frost said. "We saw your text message about being fired and figured you'd want some help taking your mind off that. The last time we did this, you liked it." He looked full of regret, eyes sad, mouth turned down.
"We're sorry," Dallas whispered.
"I'm not," Storm said. "You should have known we wouldn't let anyone do this to you. If they had?—"
"You would have rearranged their face," Atlas and Jay finished his sentence for him simultaneously.
"Fucking right I would." He gave them a nod.
"You want to take this off?" I jerked my head over my shoulder, in the direction of the zip tie.
It was Ramsey who hurried to the kitchen to search for something sharp. He came back with a knife, which he used to carefully slice through the plastic, freeing my wrists.
I shook them out and rubbed them for a while. "I don't know if I should be angry at you guys or touched. Most guys wouldn't think to kidnap their girlfriend to cheer her up. That's really sweet."
Storm was right, I should have known they wouldn't let it happen.
"Definitely touched," Frost said.
"Touched is perfect," Dallas agreed. He placed the tips of his fingers on my chin and turned my face to kiss me. "That's what we brought you here for."
"All the touching." Frost turned my head so he could kiss me too.
The team was going to notice the absence of half of its players, but I couldn't bring myself to care right now. If I ever needed to let off steam and be loved, it was now. Right here. Now I appreciated the fact I could scream and not be overheard.
Between them, Dallas and Frost eased my clothes off until I was naked on the mattress in front of all of my guys.
"Now she's here, we should keep her that way," Atlas said, picking up items of my clothing and tucking them under his arm.
"I like how you think," Jay said. "She looks perfect like that."
