Is that why D’abel didn’t wear clothes?

I held onto the edges of my bag, tucking my fingers under my chin as I peered out at the mountains in the distance. The rain was petering out here, but a thick curtain of it blurred the peaks. Silent lightning lit up the clouds beyond them in the direction I was headed. And not too far away–a mile at most–I thought I saw a figure. A pale dot on the hills across the highway far beneath my lean-to. It stood still, watching me…

I fell asleep anyway. My dreams were full of steam that solidified into claws and a tail. A pillar of water invaded my mouth, choking me to the hilt as it became a sinful tongue with two forks that moved like fingers. D’abel’s hiss slithered down my spine as his weight settled on me and I opened my legs. He sank into me like a possession, filling me until my stomach was distended by the heft of his cock and our movements crashed through me in a violent tide.

I woke up with blue pressing against my eyelids and knew that morning had come. I had never really been a morning person, and though I had no phone to throw anymore, I still fought for every groggy, blissful moment before my eyes opened. I pressed my thighs together with a delicious roll of the hips and dragged in the fresh dewy scent of morning.

Until something wriggled against my tear duct. My brows stitched together. It had to be a bug. It writhed, pressing against my eye.

Then it slipped beneath my eyelid.

I scrambled to my feet faster than I ever had, batting at my face, eyes squeezed shut on instinct. I tripped over my sleeping bag and thumped against a crumbling brick wall, trying desperately to pry my eye open and get it out.

The more I struggled, the more bugs burrowed between my lashes. They infested my nails and squirmed against my cuticles. Several abandoned my eyes and found my nose, my ears, my gums. I screamed, eyes flying wide open–

I stared at my fingers in horror.

Water.

It clung to me like mercury to a magnet. My navel tingled as droplets roved up my legs, and I caught them invading me through every orifice, every break in my skin. My thighs trembled as streams climbed into my pussy as if I was watching myself pee in reverse. I slammed my thighs closed and pressed the heel of my hand into my groin, shaking with my back to the wall, unable to stop the swollen pulse in my clit.

It was a violent shift from terror to lust as an orgasm was ripped from me like a ragdoll simply because of the pressure against my channel. The water extended in soft spikes like a ferrofluid, teasing my cervix, my walls, every corner it could possibly reach. I cried out in ecstasy, breasts bouncing against my stiff arms, trying to catch my breath as the water demanded entrance. Every climactic pulse drew more of it into me until my womb felt heavy.

“D’abel!” I roared, my snarl echoing across the landscape. I looked to where the pale dot on the hill had watched me and lulled me into sleep. It wasn’t there anymore. “Fuck me yourself, you fucking coward!”

I flung obscenities at the mountains until I collapsed into a mewling mess, rubbing my clit and cursing him for the disappearing act. Tears streaked my cheeks, born of frustration and anger hot enough to keep my naked skin warm. In time, the water was no longer clear, but brackish like the ocean. Dark and brooding.

Then black and thick like blood. My stomach growled as D’abel’s essence caressed my skin and pressed against my lips. I opened for the onslaught in my exhaustion and swallowed down as much of it as I could get. Just like the water, it consumed me. The air steamed as I grew hotter than a fever, lying prone on the grass and rocks so that the rain pelted my breasts and face and stomach and thighs, offering a modicum of icy relief.

Cold feet? Cowardice? Concern?

No matter if my spirit was strong enough to endure his yet. The next time we met, I was taking the reins.

THREE YEARS AGO.

I pressed my non-slip socks into the white tiles and bounced my knees as I wrote down some notes in shorthand. I bent my head over the paper for privacy, shielding the loose leaf paper from the fluorescent lights.

Christmas soon. Planning to spend a long break with Jess and Uncle Jim while I job search. Kitch kn, four doa. It’s going to be relaxing to be home. Maybe it’s a good idea to get out of Boston and clear my mind a bit. Somewhere without trains. Perp juve.?ed w/ S. It’d be nice to ride a bike again… Not in the snow ofc lol.

My marker paused, bleeding through the sheet. Flashes of bright lights in the dark. The sounds of someone eating.Pop, slurp crunch.I squeezed myself together like I was afraid of unraveling, elbows to my ribs, shoulders to my jaw.

“Hey, Lucky Charm, how you doing today?”

I blinked out of my memories and sat up straight, fighting the urge to cover my piece of paper. Glenn sat down across from me and the rest of the noise in the open art therapy room seeped back in. He smiled, leaning his elbows on the table, and the bounce in my knee instantly settled. I smiled back with relief.

“Doing good. Just journaling,” I said, slowly putting my notes away like someone that wasn’t obsessive or secretive. “Pink today, huh?”

Glenn laughed, looking down at his fuschia scrubs and light grey long sleeves. “You like ‘em? Reed got them for me. Told me to wear them this week or else.”

I bit the inside of my cheek, swallowing hard. Secretly, it was my favorite color. I’d always been self-conscious about liking pink, but Reed knew me inside and out.

“He’s doing okay,” Glenn said honestly. “Don’t worry too much. We’re all happy to be here for you. It feels good when you help someone.”

I nodded, feeling that same hollow ache that had followed me for months. I still remembered the headlines.Mother-to-be Turned Killer Wannabe.Paramedic Clipped by Train at Ruggles. Patient Pushes Paramedic into Oncoming Train…
