I heard about what happened between Jasper, Lowell, and her, and the scene of it plays across my mind as I fist a hand through her hair.

I have to be careful.

There’s a line I don’t want to cross—one where the drive to sink my fangs into her throat won’t be quenched by anything but doing just that.

“We should stop.” I’m panting as I break the kiss and press my forehead against hers.

Her answering snarl is not only feral but also adorable, and I grin as I slide my hand over her throat and feel the blood rushing just beneath her creamy flesh.

“I don’t need to get like I was the other night, Silver.”

Her eyes fill with fire as she bites her bottom lip. “I don’t know what comes over me when I’m with any of you. I’m not this girl. I don’t jump from man to man.”

“We’re not men,” I offer, hoping to calm her fears, but as her eyes widen, I see I’ve only made them worse.

We stand in a moral dilemma, staring at one another for a long time before the sound of someone crunching across the gravel meets my ears.

I don’t alert Silver to the sound, but I keep alert in case it’s someone unwelcome.

Silver straightens against me, feeling how hard I am and gasping as her eyes flick away from mine, finally releasing me from the hold they had on me.

“It’s not that I don’t want you, Silver…”

Her eyes meet mine again, and there’s something in them I want nothing more than to prod when a scent I know very well wafts through the door and up my nose.

“Hey, I was looking for you… Oh, I didn’t know you were occupied,” Corvin says.

I watch as something else breeds in Silver’s damning eyes, and a wicked smirk curls my lips as I turn and eye Corvin, remembering the moment I saw the little minx walking into the lab as I pounded my cock through Corvin’s mouth.

She and I shared a moment, and she probably wishes I hadn’t told Corvin.

It’s also a moment I’d love to re-live.

“I’ll see you back at home, then,” Corvin starts, turning on his heel as Silver gives me a look that tells me to stop him.

“You weren’t interrupting anything. If anything, it’s good you stopped in,” I shout at his back.

He turns, giving me a look of concern. “Yeah?”

He turns back and walks over toward us.

I don’t break away from where I’m still holding Silver against the stud by her throat, and I know he can hear how her little human heart patters away in her chest.

“Yeah,” I admit.

“What would’ve happened if I hadn’t?”

Silver turns her face toward him, lust permeating every single space on it as I tighten my hand, choking off a moan.

“The urge to take her thin little vein would’ve overwhelmed me, love. The way she offers herself is too fucking good. The way she tastes. The way she moans when I flick my tongue against hers. I’m so fucking hard.” I barely get the words out as both of them together nearly overwhelm me.

Corvin then does something that nearly stops my uneven, dead heart in its tracks.

He slides his hand between Silver and me, watching Silver as he does so, and runs it against my hardness.

“Fuck, you are hard.”

I hiss as he grips me, grinding into his touch and, subsequently, Silver.
