When I walked into work the Monday after first meeting Celeste and confessed to Clay and Matt that I already knew I met the one, they both smirked theirI told you sosmirks and asked me when the wedding was.

It took some time getting here and if it were up to me, she would already be my wife, but I couldn’t wait to ask her the most important question of our lives tonight over a candlelit dinner I plan on surprising her with.

Peanut barked at me and tugged at his leash hanging on the door hook with his mouth.

“I know, buddy. I’ll take you for a walk in a minute.” I said as I finished unpacking the last box. After putting the items away, I double checked the ingredients in the fridge for the dinner I planned on making. Celeste loved steak with mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy, a side salad, and her favorite dessert- strawberry cheesecake.

Everything needed to be perfect.

Hooking Peanut up on his leash, I made my way outside, the ring burning a hole in my pocket. But I couldn’t part with it. Not before it was on her finger.

Every day with Celeste was a dream come true, our love for one another endless. She turned me on as much as she did the first day, I saw her, and I still got all hot and bothered watching her work on my truck. Finding my person changed my life in so many ways I never expected and while I might not have been looking for it, I was so grateful and thankful it found me.

The day passed quickly as I ticked off the items on my to-do list and finally, when Celeste walked in the door after work, she was met with fallen rose petals leading to the dark kitchen, the only dim light coming from the lit candles spread about.

There in the middle of a heart made of rose petals, I kneeled on one knee, my sexiest flannel and jeans showing off my muscles, the box held open, the ring shining.

“Percy, what’s going—” She stopped mid-word and gasped when she saw me. “Oh my God, Perc…” A sob escaped her throat and tears pricked at the corner of my eyes.

“Will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me, Celeste?”

“Of course I will, Percy. Of course!” She ran toward me, Peanut running in circles around us from excitement as she jumped in my arms and I spun her in circles. We kissed and kissed and when I slipped the ring on her finger, I’d never felt more whole than I did right that very moment.

My perfect love, my perfect wife, my perfect Celeste.
