“You wanna kiss me. I’ll make it good for you.”

“I heard you’re a lousy kisser.”

“Say yes, Rebel.” His mouth hovered mere inches above mine. He licked his bottom lip and he waited to hear the word coming from my mouth and I knew he’d wait until the stars died if that’s how long it took. He’d never do anything without my consent but even so it still felt dangerous. “Do you want me to kiss you?”

I wanted it more than I’d ever wanted anything in my life. Should I really deny myself this pleasure? I nodded. “Yes.”

When his lips met mine, he was smiling. His lips brushed against mine, sending a shockwave through me, and this wasn’t really a kiss, just the prelude to one. As if he had all the time in the world and he wasn’t risking life and limb to kiss me on top of this roof. I wound my arms around his neck, thinking maybe I could save him from falling.

And that’s when he kissed me. He kissed me hard. I gasped, and he took that opportunity to deepen the kiss. His tongue stroked mine and it felt so strange yet so wonderful all at the same time. He groaned and I made a little sound that was close to a whimper.

I can’t lie. It was a perfect kiss.

I’d gladly fall off the roof if it meant I could keep kissing him like this. I never wanted this kiss to end.

Chapter Ten

Jude

Kissing Lila waslike nothing I’d ever experienced before. I never wanted to stop kissing her. My dick was so hard I knew she had to feel it prodding her thigh. Her back arched off the roof and her fingers dug into my shoulders and when she rocked her hips, I didn’t even stop to think. I was thrusting against her, the thin silky material of our running shorts the only barrier preventing me from burying myself inside her.

This was quickly turning into a hell of a lot more than a kiss. We were dry humping on a roof and my mouth was on her neck, my teeth grazing her collarbone, her fingers tugging at the ends of my hair while in my head I was coming up with a million different ways to make her feel so good she’d never want to kiss another guy for as long as she lived.

But we couldn’t keep doing this. Not now. Not here on a roof while her mom was dying. Not after the promises I’d made.

“You’re a good friend to Lila. She’s going to need you to help her through this.”

“I’ll be there for her. I’ll always be there for her.”

“I know you will, sweetie. She’s lucky to have you. Just do me a favor, okay?”

“Anything.”

“Make her first time special.”

I coughed, not sure I’d heard her right. “Her first time?”

She laughed. “Sex, Jude. Don’t act like you haven’t thought about it. I might be dying but I’m not blind. I see the way you look at her. But there’s no rush. You’re both young. Wait until the time is right.”

“I...” I chuckled. “This is awkward.”

“Sex is natural. No need to make it awkward. I’m glad you found each other. Sometimes I wish... well, never mind. It’s good to wait until the right person comes along and when that right person comes along when you’re nine years old, that’s magical.”

With every ounce of willpower I possessed, I forced myself to stop and I pulled away, trying to get my raging hard-on under control. No easy feat. I wanted her so badly I couldn’t see straight. Bracing my arms on either side of her head, I looked down at her swollen, kiss-bruised lips. I wanted to mark her like those stupid vampires in the books all the girls were reading.

She looked up at me, her lips parting and I dipped my head and kissed her neck, sucking on the sensitive skin until I was sure it would be bruised and purple tomorrow.

Mine.

“Did you just give me a hickey?” she asked when I rolled off her and sat next to her.

“Yep.”

I leaned back on my elbows, pretty damn proud of my handiwork and she rolled her eyes and saidgrossbut there was a smile on her lips and I didn’t think she minded it that much. “How was your first kiss?” I asked, wishing I’d just kept my mouth shut.

“Not bad. It was kind of nice.”

“Kind of nice?”
