Did Jace write to me? When did he have the time? Did he write this today?

Thoughts swirl around my mind until my eyes drag on the first line.

Looking up at myself in the mirror, I smile. Through all of the pain and hardships that I’ve been through, there’s always been a light at the end of the tunnel.

A few years ago, I wanted to change everything about myself. I hated how others perceived me and let their opinions effect everything about me. Looking in the mirror now, I’m proud of the woman I became.

Pushing back my shoulders and holding my head high, I nod.

“I got this.”

When the girls reenter the room two minutes later, all hell breaks loose.

“I can’t fucking believe you cried while we were gone! It was only two minutes!” Georgia screeches, her brows scrunched as she dabs away at my makeup.

Cleo and the twins fuss over my falling curls, the three of them a mess of hairspray and curling irons, but I’m just happy to be here.

The ceremony goes off without a hitch. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight as Jace and I professed our love for one another. He’d gotten choked up a few times himself, stuttering and laughing like a nervous school boy.

When the ceremony is over, Jace looks at me as if I hung the moon. His light green eyes sparkle with love and joy as we walk hand in hand down the aisle, on the road to forever.

Stopping outside of the ceremony doors, we smile at each other. His eyes are soft as kisses me gently, his hand still in mine.

“We can always just sneak off now…” he whispers, his grin filled with mischief as I roll my eyes.

“Or we can go to the reception that we spent a million dollars on,” I say cheekily as Jace cups my face, bringing my lips to his once again.

When he pulls back, his voice is husky as he replies, “We’ve got an hour…A lot can happen in an hour, angel.”

“You gotta make it quick and my makeup must stay intact—”

A flashing of a camera followed by loud chatter interrupts my words as our photographers snap away at ourintimate moment.

“We must get the shoot done before the reception starts, Mr. and Mrs. Heart, would you like to start in the gardens?” our head photographer, Chloe asks, lowering her camera.

“What do you say, Mrs. Heart? Where would you like to go?” Jace questions, his eyes rooted in a deep hunger as he whispers in my ear.

Chills racket my spine, but I stand my ground. We need to get these photos done now while the sun is up.

In that hour, Jace and I are posed in every way that you can imagine all over the Chateau’s grounds. We take more pictures in an hour than we’ve had all year, and I just hope they all turn out amazing.

By the time our reception has started, the two of us have changed into our third outfits of the day, had our first dance, and have been blissfully separated from one another.

The last time I’d seen my husband, the sun was still up. Now the crisp, Parisian sky is littered with stars, fairy lights twinkle around the gardens grounds, and everyone has some semblance of liquor buzzing in their veins as they dance the night away.

I’m talking with Gizelle Banks, the PR manager of the Washington Eagles, the hockey team that Blake is signed to, when a hand grasps around my wrist, pulling me away.

Sending her a quick apology, I allow myself to be tugged away from the intruder, smiling from ear to ear as his cologne wafts through the air mixing with my perfume.

Jace doesn’t say a word as he drags me throughout the palace before we land on a balcony overseeing the garden.

“If you wanted to get me all to yourself, you could’ve just told me that, Mr. Heart,” I say, grinning as he tilts his head at me.

Jace wraps an arm around my waist, his other cupping my cheek as he leans in close. “Oh, but I did, Mrs. Heart.Youdidn’t want to be whisked away. Besides, I’ve got a small surprise for you.”

The first thunder and crack of a firework causes me to jump in his arms. My eyes wide as I look around the venue below. Half of the guest are peering upat us, some recording, others smiling, while the rest of the guests are facing the sky.

Bright fireworks go off in a series of purple and gold sparkles. My heart feels full of love and warmth as the display fills the sky.
