“You can trust me, Sienna. I won’t do anything you’re not comfortable with, I promise,” he says softly, holding out his pinky.
The breath in my throat catches at the reminder of all of the promises we’ve made with one another over the years, and without hesitation, I lock pinkies with him, my head turning towards him.
This close, I can see his every imperfection, but let’s be honest…Nothing about Jace is imperfect. He has these tiny freckles that decorate his golden skin like constellations, and thoseeyes. If I’d been standing, my knees would’ve grown weak from staring into them.
Jace takes his bottom lip into his mouth. His hooded gaze lowers to my lips, tracking my movements before settling on my eyes once again, dark and hungrily.
“Jace…” my voice trails off as I lean in close. We’re so close that I breathe in his minty air.
“Angel—”
The sound of crashing on the screen jolts us apart. My heart rackets against my chest as my eyes snap to the screen to see Lolark, the female main character, screaming in pain as an arrow protrudes from her back.
Blinking my surprise away, I focus back on the screen, inches away from Jace. Just five seconds ago, I almost kissed him. And had the TV not interrupted us, I would’ve.

I was this close to having Sienna Sola Jones in my arms until my movie date idea came back to bite me in my ass. I had it all planned out. I wanted to just bring her here to show her a safe place, watch the movie, and talk more. I had zero expectations of doing anything sexual, but now that I know that she feels the same way for me, I don’t know what to do with myself.
My eyes remain locked on the pink haired woman beside me who scooted a few feet away from me on the couch after the near kiss. From where I’m sitting, I have the perfect view of her as she laughs and watches the movie.
My fingers itch to sketch her, to draw and paint her, to keep her suspended in time for my eyes only.
Sienna giggles at something the vamp guy says on the screen, and my muscles ache to be right under her skin. My ears yearn to be closer to her, to hear her giggle and laugh for all eternity.
I don’t know how or when, but by the second movie, we’re sitting shoulder to shoulder again. Slowly, I move my arm to rest around the top of hers, grinning to myself as she settles into my side, cuddling into me.
“Did you see that?” she asks, looking up at me with large doe eyes, a small smile on her face. “Her being depressed for months because her man left is so real—”
My body moves on its own, pressing my lips to hers. The kiss is soft and quick, yet electric and fulfilling. Pulling away, I bite my lip, guilt racking me as I watch the stunned, silent girl.
Sienna blinks once, then twice too fast as she looks at me with wide eyes.
“What was that…for?” she asks breathlessly, still leaning on me as I rest my forehead on hers. I close my eyes, wanting to keep this moment locked in my brain.
“I just had to make sure you were real…Why did you leave?”
Sienna looks up at me, her gaze wide and searching as her hand travels to my cheek. “I was scared. Not just because of the fact that our friendship would change, but I didn’t want to lose you too. We’ve been close all our lives, and then I kissed you and it changed everything. I left because it’s the only thing that I know how to do…My parents always leave me, and I fucked up by doing it to you that night…”
Her face is a storm cloud of misery, as if she’s reliving the moment everything between us changed on her birthday.
“Just so you know, I’ll always catch you when you run.”
Her lips part slowly, quirking slightly before she’s pulling my face back to hers, sealing our fates together in a searing hot kiss.
The kiss is deep and aching as we battle for dominance of one another’s mouth. My stomach clenches and my dick hardens as Sienna moans in my mouth.
Dear God.
She’s fast with her movements, keeping our lips pressed together, hot and heavy, as she moves to straddle me. And as if we’ve done this dance before, my hands grip her waist, pulling her flush against me as she grinds into me.
My pulse screams from her movements, and before I know it, she’s pulling away.
I can’t open my eyes. My mind full of shock as I pull myself together, trying and failing to comprehend what just happened.
