“Let’s be real…You’re not working, I haven't learned a single move since being here at the school. Think of this as paid fun.”

“Sounds like prostitution…” she says skeptically, halting all movement in my hair as I smirk.

“Good, we start tomorrow.”

IonlytrustJaceas far as I can throw him, and let me make one thing clear: I can barely lift fifty pounds without feeling like I’ll throw my back out at twenty. However, I also know that Jace wouldn’t kill me, because if he tries, he’ll have to answer to my uncle and cousins.

And we all know how that would end…

Anyways…

Jace wouldn’t kill me, so that’s why I’m excited for today.

He’s the only person who I’m willing to complete my list with, and him being eager for me to “use” him is always a plus—but not in that sense…you know, because we’re just friends.

Friends that have kissed…a few times.

“Si Si! How does this look?!” Georgia’s voice breaks through my thoughts as she bursts into my room.

I watch with one eye open from my bed as she twirls around in a green, satin dress, tailored to look like the perfect spring gown.

Rising with my elbows propped behind me, I eye the blonde. “It’s sixty-five degrees outside…Where are you going?” I chuckle lightly as she pouts at me.

“A spring wedding…duh!” she says in an obvious tone, as if I understand what she means. When Georgia senses my obliviousness, she plops down on the bed beside me.

“It’s the start of a piece I’m creating for an internship! As we all know, I’m destined to be Eden Marlowe’s protégé.” She grins, sassily flipping her hair overher shoulder. I smile as she leans in closer to my face, her green eyes dazzling with excitement.

“What better way to show her that I’ll be the next best thing than to create my own pieces? I’m thinking I wear this to a wedding in Tuscany!” she exclaims, her happiness evident as she jumps up from the bed, twirling. The dress flows prettily as she spins effortlessly, her hair blowing in the wind.

I admire my friend; her beauty, her charisma. Georgia Adams is like the sun, always happy and semi-peaceful.

She stumbles a little, dizziness overtaking her. Giggles fall from my lips as she grabs my hands to twirl with her, and I do. We laugh and spin, and everything in life is perfect. We’re just girls, living life together for the very first time.

“Are you two having a dance party without me?!” Cleo’s voice startles the two of us. Georgia and I pull away from one another like toddlers who’d just been caught doing something they shouldn't be.

The three of us stare at each other, Georgia and I breathing heavily as a slow smile breaks across Cleo’s face, and soon enough, the three of us are in a blissful state. We dance and laugh and allow our inner children to heal with one another, and it’s beautiful.

“Wait, wait, wait! You want to get married in Tuscany?” Cleo asks Georgia, putting a hold on our dance party as she turns down the music she’d begun playing.

Georgia gathers her breath, a shy grin spreading across her face as she shakes her head. “Nah, we all know I’m more of a Vegas chapel with an Elvis preacher kinda girl.” She jokes, wrapping an arm around the two of us.

“Puh-lease…you wouldn’t be caught dead in one of those,” I say, rolling my eyes as she pokes my cheek.

“You’re right! Someone give me a tall, dark, handsome man with more money than the US Treasury and a wedding on the Amalfi Coast, then I can die a happy woman.” The blonde chuckles as Cleo and I grin.

We spend so much time talking and laughing with one another that I lose track of time. I almost completely forget about Jace until my phone dings with a new message.

Be ready in fifteen, I’m on the way

My eyes widen as my bottom lip finds itself tucked under my teeth.Fuck.I was supposed to be getting ready…I don’t regret spending time with my friends, but I do regret not finding a cute outfit while doing so.

“So yeah, I’ll just order some sushi from that one place in the quad and we should be good to go for a movie night?” Cleo’s voice rings through my ears like warning bells being set off. My heart drops.
