“You didn’t!” I gasp, turning to face the man of my dreams.

Jace only grins down at me, pulling me closer to his chest.

It’d been on my list of wedding requirements for us to have fireworks go off during the reception, but I’d been told that it may be out of our wheelhouse to have it happen.

Was I sad about it? Of course. What girl wouldn’t want fireworks at her wedding? I was upset for about two weeks, moping around until Jace convinced me that he had something better up his sleeve.

Looking at the sky now, from this angle, I know that nothing could ever compare.

This wedding is everything younger me could’ve ever dreamt of. We had a harpist play our song as I walked down the aisle, ballerinas dancing around the reception, and photo booths all over to capture our wedding in real time.

Jace pulls me in for a searing kiss and I melt into him, welcoming him warmly. When he pulls away, resting his forehead atop mine, I grin.

He kisses my forehead once, the loud crackling of the fireworks the only thing to be heard as he turns me around to face the show and crowd, his arms wrapped around my waist.

We stand in a comfortable silence, but I know that it won’t last long. My husband and the wordsilencedo not belong in the same sentence as one another.

“I still can’t believe we weren’t the first in our friend group to get married,” he says, an obvious pout in his words as I chuckle.

“No, but we were the first ones to meet and fall in love,” I counter, twisting slightly to look up at him.

When Jace looks down at me, it's like the world stops as our eyes lock.

“Valid…Suck it, Blake, SiJace on top,” he beams as my jaw drops.

“SiJace?” I ask, laughing as he winks at me.

“Our ship's name, baby. I’ve been workingon it for years.”

Giggling, I relax in his hold. Jace and I have had many ups and downs throughout the years, but they’ve all been worth it for this moment right here.

“I love you forever, Mr. Heart.”

Jace kisses the top of my head. “I’ll love you forevermore, Mrs. Heart.”

Smiling to myself, I hold up my pinky. “Promise?”

His chuckle vibrates against my back as he locks pinkies with me.

“I promise.”
