The man shook his head before giving him the finger, then sped up ahead of him.
He loved pissing off the little twerp.
“Where is he?” Caden whispered from behind the curtain.
“Shh. He’s sitting at the table next to the stage,” Blade answered, crouched down next to his buddy. “There are, like, four of them there. Ace, his date, and two others I know I’ve seen in the bar before. I think one of them does drag.”
“You sure you want to do this?” Caden asked for the millionth time since they arrived. “He might actually kill you.”
He highly doubted it. Depending on Ace’s mood, he might get pissed off, murderous, angry, or he might love it. He was betting on loving it.
“Yes. It’ll be hilarious. Ace won’t know what hit him.” Blade chuckled, staring at the smiling face of his boss’s little brother. “Come.”
Blade crouched down and moved toward the booth.
“Hey, stud, mind if I choose the next song?” Blade asked the lanky, love-struck puppy manning the music booth.
The poor man didn’t stand a chance. When a hot, biker dude covered in tattoos asks you to let him in and select the next karaoke song, you drop to your knees and do what he says.
The man nodded, eager to please, like so many men and women before him.
Blade flipped through the stack of CDs and found the one that he was looking for. He popped it into the player, then gave the awestruck man his instructions.
This was going to be awesome!
“Cade. Take off your shirt and unbutton your jeans,” Blade ordered, removing his own shirt to the gasp of the man standing next to the electronics. Blade gave him a wink.
Putty in his hands.
Blade nodded, giving the man the go-ahead to start.
“Next up, we have Ace singing ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’!” the announcer said over the speakers.
Ace slammed his hand down on the table, looking caught off guard but also excited. This was one of Ace’s favorite songs. Blade had to listen to him sing it every time he was on bar-duty cleanup.
The guys at the table all cheered their friend on as he took a big sip of his drink, then came running up onto the stage.
He looked so excited.
Blade loved it!
Ace grabbed the microphone and waited for the music to begin. He was a pro. He didn’t need to look at the screen to know the words.
The lights came low as the music to his favorite song began.
Ace began dancing around the stage, bopping his head as the intro played. He was getting ready for his big beginning.
That’s when the music shifted.
Ace’s head jerked up as the intro to another song began to play.
Blade chuckled at the look of pure confusion on Ace’s face.
The crowd went wild as another gay anthem began to play.
Shrugging his shoulders, Ace decided to lean into the new song being played.
The intro to “It’s Raining Men” started playing to the cheers and hollers of the crowd around them. Ace began running on the spot as he shook his hands out in front of him, building up the excitement and atmosphere of the bar.
