“Yes,” Molly admitted.
Finley ran a hand up over Molly’s knee and onto her thigh and said, “Here’s what I’m thinking. We’ll go to your place and get the stuff for Wells out of my car because we forgot to last night. We’ll spend a few minutes putting it away because I know you want to make it a home for her the moment she walks in, or probably saunters, because she seems like she’s the kind of dog that just does what she wants. Honestly, your new dog has real cat vibes.”
Molly laughed.
“After that, I’m going to take you to bed, but we’ll change first, and I’ll borrow some of your clothes. We’ll lie in bed, and I’ll spend the rest of the night touching you to make you feel like this is real.” She pressed her lips to Molly’s jaw. “We will stick to some above-the-waist action tonight, but I promise you, by the end of it, you’ll know that I’m here, I’m with you, and I mean it when I say that you’re who I want, Molls.” She kissed her neck again. “Only you. And we’ll have nights like tonight as many times as you need to know that for sure.”
“Hey, lovebirds? I think I’m going to take off,” Ava said as she walked outside.
“Okay. It was good to see you,” Molly replied.
“You too. And thanks for trying with India. She’s great, but not my type.”
“Whatisyour type?” Molly asked.
“I’m thinking Stephania,” Ava teased with a wink.
“What? Really?” Molly laughed.
“Asher gave her my info.”
“What?” Finley asked, laughing.
“Yeah. I just decided to put myself out there, you know? She’s hot, and Asher said that she’s nice. She’s also coming to New Orleans around Halloween for some job, and I need to get over Bonnie already, so why not meet up with a sexy supermodel?”
“Good for you,” Finley said.
“I’m still going to call Bonnie to lay it all out there, but yeah, good for me.” Ava smiled. “I mean, I know it won’t go anywhere; she’s freaking Stephania. But maybe she’ll agree to coffee or something.”
“That’s awesome,” Molly replied. “Good luck.”
“Thanks. And hey, ifyouwant to grab coffee, let me know.”
“Hey!” Finley said with mock jealousy.
“I meanjustcoffee. I get what’s happening here,” Ava said, pointing at them.
“What’s happening here, exactly?” Molly asked.
“From what I can tell, it’s two people falling in love.” Ava winked again, turned, and walked toward the gate without another word, leaving Finley there to worry that it might be too much for Molly to handle.
“So, Stephania,” Finley said, changing the subject.
“Yeah,” Molly replied, turning a little in Finley’s arms. “Are you still ready to go?”
“To your place?”
“Yes.”
“Yeah, I’m ready. Just need to say goodnight to everyone.”
“Then, let’s say goodnight because I want to go home and spend some time alone with my girlfriend,” Molly replied.
CHAPTER 30
“You didn’t tell me you got this. When did you buy it?” she asked. “I was with you the whole time.”
Molly held up a red-and-white rope toy.
