“Alyssa,” he said her name like a prayer, raw and full of wonder. He dropped his head and kissed her hard enough she saw stars as sparks of desire danced across her skin.
She closed her eyes to savor the moment, and when she opened them again, she found Kalan staring down at her, his eyes burning with need. His scales had tightened until his skin shimmered like molten silver, transforming him into a work of living art.
“You are beautiful,” she told him as she ran her hands along his powerful shoulders and down his arms.
“Show me the rest,” Kalan said, his tone almost a command.
“Not here,” she said. “My room. There’s more space.”
“And softer surfaces,” Fyr’enth said.
“Agreed.” She tried to step away from them, but Kalan held her in place.
“We know the way,” he said and then surprised her by lifting her into his arms.
She laughed and threw her arms around his neck. “We should probably stop by your cabins on the way. We’re going to need a bigger bed.”
Of all the upgrades and improvements she’d made to theGambitin her time, the one thing she’d never expected to change was the size of her single bed.
CHAPTER 12
She endedup walking the last stretch to her cabin, but there was a good reason for it. Both her males were carrying their mattresses and an assortment of bedding. She had their pillows, and the three of them formed an odd sort of parade as they made their way to her room.
“Ship, open my cabin door and retract my bed, please.”
“Requested changes in progress,” the AI said.
“Too bad the AI can’t carry this mattress. This thing keeps bending in strange places,” Kalan muttered.
“They do that. I’ve been assured it’s just physics and they’re not sentient, but sometimes I wonder,” Hezza joked.
“If anything on this ship is sentient other than the three of us, I’m tossing it out the nearest airlock,” Fyr’enth said.
“After stabbing it repeatedly,” Kalan agreed.
She laughed and led them into her cabin. It wasn’t a large room by any measure, but it was far bigger than the cabins she’d assigned to them. Most of the space was storage with a decently sized closet and cubbies for clothes, shoes, and other belongings. Unlike the crew cabins, she had room for a small desk and acomfortable chair. It wasn’t much, but it gave her a place to deal with the paperwork that was a surprisingly large part of the job.
Her soon-to-be lovers set the mattresses down beside each other. They covered nearly half the room and stretched from wall-to-wall. That done, they laid out the blankets they’d brought while she tossed the pillows in a heap on one side.
Good enough.
They must have felt the same way because the second the bed was made, they started to undress. She joined them. Was it sexy? Not really, though she did enjoy the view. Silver scales, hard muscle, and… damn. Everything she’d heard about Vardarian anatomy was true.
If her intel about their size was accurate, could her other tidbit of information be right, too?
Without saying anything, she walked up to Kalan and gently ran her fingers up his spine. As she reached the spot between his wings, he sucked in a breath and shivered.
Oh yeah, itwastrue.
“What did she do?” Fyr’enth asked sharply.
“I don’t know.” Kalan spun to face her. “Do that again,” he demanded.
Feeling brazen, she moved in close enough that his cock was pressed to the soft curve of her stomach. Then she reached around to stroke the sensitive spot between his wings.
He groaned and shuddered as he rocked his hips against her. “That is…how did you know to do that?”
“It’s something I heard about on Haven.”
