I turn to him and shrug. “Uh, sorry about earlier.”
He pulls at his collar then straightens his shirt. “Wouldn’t be the first time someone’s tried to kill me over news they didn’t like.”
“Jareth,” Tilly growls. “You didn’t.”
Pivoting around, I give her my most innocent grin. “What?”
With a huff, she tiredly pats an empty space at her side. “Come here and stop trying to bully everyone.”
I shove the empty bed away and mold myself to her body, gently devouring her mouth.
She returns the kiss and wraps her hands in my hair, then pulls back, her irises shining with an inner glow. “The baby’s kicking. Do you want to feel it?”
“I’d like nothing more in the entire universe.”
As she guides my hand to the exact spot he pummels, I close my eyes and pull her closer.
