Rynar huffed a surprised laugh. “It seems I’m not the only one acting strangely tonight. I haven’t seen you like this, either.”

Alissia looked up at him with those big, beautiful eyes of hers. “Like what?”

“Free.”

ALISSIA

He was right.

She did feel free. Unrestrained. Unleashed.

Whatever it was named, it was a strange, overwhelming feeling.

Maybe this newfound courage was the result of her confronting a guy with a gun to her head and coming out alive.

Maybe Rynar made her feel safe enough to bring out this hidden adventurous side of her. He was so patient with her. So attuned to her needs. If he promised something, he would do anything in his power to accomplish it, with such certainty that it made her bolder in return.

He’d always been a good leader back at the office. Always unflinching in his decisions. Alissia had just assumed he was as uncompromising in his personal life.

But that wasn’t true.

He cared about the ones in his life and wanted to make things as comfortable for them as possible. And he never brought attention to that.

And he’d succeeded–because Alissia felt comfortable and safe around him.

Or maybe, just maybe, he helped bring out the things in her that made her feel more safe and courageous with herself.

“It’s because of you,” she muttered into his chest, staring at the gray skin before her. “You help me feel like I’ve always wanted to.”

A beat of silence passed. Perhaps she’d said too much.

Finally, Rynar cupped her cheek and tilted her chin up gently. “That is an honor indeed. Thank you for entrusting me with your company.”

If that wasn’t the best compliment to ever be uttered, Alissia didn’t know what was. It made her chest constrict in a way that didn’t allow words to leave her lips.

So she expressed herself the only way she could right now.

She kissed him like she’d wanted to be kissed since she’d found out people could do that. With passion and abandon. His tongue slid against hers, twisting between his elongated fangs; the mere idea of them sent shivers down her back.

Here she was, being kissed by an alien with long big horns, fangs, and enough strength to rip an entire house apart, and she’d never felt more safe.

Because she knew Rynar would protect her.

His hands trailed down her spine, raising delicious goosebumps along her flesh. He fisted the top of her dress, which had slid down to her ass, and pulled it down her legs in one fluid motion.

The hot air danced across her heated skin; the only things she had on were her bra and panties, which were more lacey than anything else she owned–Lily had helped pick them out.

“You look amazing,” Rynar said as his lips hungrily explored her neck, her clavicle, the tops of her breasts.

Alissia arched her back, trying to get as much contact with his mouth as humanly possible. His lips were literally out of this world. Soft and urgent, making her crave sensations she’d never experience to this intensity so far.

Rynar gripped her ass in his hands and pulled her against him in one strong motion. Alissia’s legs wound around his middle as he carried them back to the bed.

They fell into it in a tangle of limbs, the last remaining rose petals flying around them. His expert fingers did quick work of unclasping her bra–there might have been a tear or two, but Alissia was past the point of caring.

All that mattered was that her breasts were free, her nipples were hard, and Rynar wasted no time in covering one of them with his mouth, sucking and swirling his tongue around it.
