The expression that spreads over Sebastian’s face at my question is enough to break my heart. He looks devastated.
“You want to leave?”
I shake my head. “Notleaveleave. Just get out for a little bit. Feel some fresh air on my face. Take in some of the smelly city air.” I smile. “I want to grab my laptop and some clothes from my place. You can’t tell me you don’t want to get out of here for a little while. She can’t control us any more, Sebastian. We aren’t stuck here.”
His eyes soften. “Okay, princess.”
Half an hour later, we’re pulling up in front of my place when Sebastian’s phone rings. Our assistant, Marla’s, name lights up on the dash.
“You take it while I run in and gather up some of my stuff.”
He nods. “I’ll be in in a few.”
