Josh smiles. “I do have to admit that I’m a bit jealous of what you just did, though,” he whispers as we walk through the library toward the elevator, and I tense. “It’s always been kind of a fantasy to do it in a library.”
I sigh in relief. “Don’t be too jealous. It was in the bathroom. It wasn’t out in the open in the stacks like in the movies.” We laugh quietly as we wait for the elevator.
“I thought it was more like that time Rachel Zane and Mike Ross fromSuitsdid it in the legal library at the law firm they worked at. That shit was hot.”
He watchesSuits? GAH! He’s incredible.
The elevator opens, and we both enter. Sighing at the memory of the steamy scene, I laugh at the fact that the actress who played the paralegal is now the Duchess of Sussex. “I can’t believe Rachel Zane is Meghan Markle. How wild is that?”
We walk into class, coffeesand bags of snacks in hand. Chloe looks questioningly at me from across the room. “Apology snacks,” I mouth with a nod in Josh’s direction. She smiles and nods her head. I dig in one of the bags, pull out a bag of Cheetos (her favorite), and toss them in her direction. Chloe catches it with a smile.
“Is that a hickey?” Jane asks loudly next to me, mouth gaping open. My hand flies to my neck, covering up the spot Oliver left on my skin. I don’t need to look in the mirror to know where it is. I can fuckingfeelit.
Subtle, Jane.
I want to die.
I hear people laughing behind me.
“Ooh! I want a snack!” Oliver puts his hands up, hoping I’ll send some junk food his way. Does he really think this is okay? I want to smack him upside the head. “Me! Me!” I smile maliciously and pull a roll of McVitie’s from one of the bags. Josh laughs, knowing just from my selection what I’m about to do. I grab the pack of cookies and throw them in the direction of his face—hard—and it hits him right on the forehead. “Fuck!”
Josh and I burst out laughing.
Perfection.
“You’re a fucking bully,” Oliver says, tearing into the package of cookies and stuffing one in his mouth.
