“No, you’re not!” Rod’s response is quick, his tone unwavering.
“Excuse me?” Dom demands.
“You’re part of the team, Dom. You have to come out and celebrate,” Rod explains.
“And... you’re part of the team how?”
“I own the damn studio and Levi invited me,” Rod volleys.
“Right,” Dom nods slowly.
There’s a loaded conversation going on between these two we’re not privy to.
Truth be told, Rod doesn’t need to be here.
Dom is a professional. So is her crew. I’m pretty sure Rod has other things to do than to hang out on set. Yet, he’s been hovering like a mother hen all day long.
“You’ve been working really late for the past couple of weeks. Let’s hang out tonight and have some fun,” Rod persists.
She cocks an eyebrow.
“Come on, Dom,” Rod presses.
She considers him.
For a few beats, they stare at each other, as if they were the only two people in the room.
Jules and I exchange a look.
Shane and Collin do the same before shifting their attention to me.
I shrug.
Lately, Dom and Rod are either at each other’s throats or staring longingly into each other’s eyes. Hot or cold. There doesn’t seem to be a middle ground.
