“This call is strictly business, Dennison,” I set him straight.

“I don’t follow.”

“I’m calling you first, but I intend on calling Shane right after.”

“Don’t keep me in suspense, Levi.”

I brief him.

“Oh, that’s a killer concept for a stationary bike,” he says.

“You should see it.”

“Do you have any photos?”

“You should come and see it in person,” I suggest.

“Why do I feel you have something up your sleeve?” he asks.

I tell him about becoming Jules’s new partner.

“It’s going to take more capital to bring the product to market,” I tell him honestly. “That’s where you and Shane come in.”

“Why us?” he asks.

“The Dennison name is synonymous with fitness,” I explain. “Your brother is still considered one of the top personal trainers in the country. And he’s a top Food TV chef. He might not have as many personal training clients as before, but Shane’s roster of former A-lister celebrity clients is legendary. He’s shaped the bodies of the biggest stars in Hollywood. You might be too cocky for your own good, but it’s undeniable, you’re an influencer and a trendsetter.” He laughs. “I still have to dig deeper, but from my initial assessment, once the app works, Jules is off to the races. She’s going to need solid marketing and ideally a face to represent the brand.”

“And of course, you were picturing my face,” Collin says.

“Actually, I was picturing Jules’s, Shane’sandyours.”

“Why the three of us?”

“Jules is the CEO of the company, she stunning and she’s fit. She’s the embodiment of the brand. The same for you and Shane. I don’t believe in reinventing the wheel. The way to sell fitness products is byshowingattractive, fit peopleusingthe product. If they happen to have name recognition, it’s bonus.”

“You’re thinking infomercial?”

“Exactly,” I confirm.

“Okay, this sounds very interesting.”

“I want to enlist Dominika as the video producer and creator.”

“This is quite the departure for someone who specializes in music videos.” Collin is right. Rod’s best friend is one of the most sought after video producers and creators in the industry.

“I know, but at the price point these bikes will fetch, the commercials need to hit the bullseye without clobbering the viewer over the head with cheesy tactics. The ideal client isn’t someone who needs to be convinced of the virtues of working out. It’s someone who wants to take their workout to the next level.”

“You’re sure this has legs?” Collin questions. “After all, you don’t have numbers yet.”

“Like I said, the app is the hold up. I’m convinced Jules is sitting on something huge,” I reiterate.

“You’re pretty confident about this.” He’s not onboard.

“I’m telling you, Collin, you have to see it to believe it.”

Silence stretches on the other end for a beat.

“How long will you be at Jules’s office?” he asks.

“I take it you’re coming down?”

“You’ve piqued my curiosity. I want to check out the bike with my own eyes. Feel free to call my brother, but I have no doubt it’ll be the same for Shane.”
