“Is that a good thing?”
“It is. I love fucking you, but I also lovebeingwith you.”
She blushes furiously.
“You have a way with words, Mr. Aldridge.”
“You know you love my dirty mouth,” I defend.
“Guilty as charged,” she laughs. “But, now that we’re business partners, shouldn’t we keep it platonic?”
Hell, no.“Is that what you want?”
She shrugs. “I just want to give you a way out.”
“I don’t need a way out. I know what I want.” I bore my eyes into hers. “And that’s you.”
She swallows hard.
“Let’s see where this goes,” I say.
“What do you mean?” The words come out breathlessly.
“I don’t want to put the brakes on, Jules. Let’s explore this to the fullest. I’m not interested in seeing anyone else.”
“Oh, my God, Levi,” she brings a hand to her chest, “I feel the same way. I was devastated last night––” I drop two fingers against her lips, silencing her.
“I know.”
“Maybe I shouldn’t say this, but I’ve never fallen this fast for someone in my life,” she confesses.
Fuck if those words don’t do something to me. “It’s the same for me, sweetness.”
She offers a warm smile.
“You wanna be my girlfriend?” I wink.
She shakes her head.
“You don’t want to be my girlfriend?” I ask.
She doesn’t answer.
“Jules?” I press.
“This is the most incredible day of my life, Levi,” she says in a low voice. If I weren’t sitting right next to her, I would’ve missed it.
I tip her chin up. “We’re good together,” I affirm.
Her eyes blink wide and turn warm. “We are.”
