I shake my head.

She winks.

“I was probably too young at the time to understand the depth of my parents’ love, but now, I get it,” I say. “When you meet the one. That’s it. Game over. Nothing else matters. The way I feel when I look at you… the way I feel when you’re near me… I want this for the rest of my life.”

A tear spills from Lily’s eye. She wipes at it as she nods. “I want to be with you forever.”

“We were fated, angel.”

“We were.”

“I don’t have a big ring––”

“I don’t need one.”

“There are two bracelets. One for you.” I tie the braided thread around her wrist. “And one for me.” I extend my arm.

She grabs the other bracelet and ties it around my wrist. “Our thread can never be broken.”

“Never,” I say. “Lily Schuyler, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”

Her lower lip quivers. “Yes, Gage, I want to marry you. I want that more than anything in the world… other than our baby.”

“You’ve made me the happiest man,” I say before kissing her until we both run out of air. After several beats, I pull away from her, boring my eyes into hers. “We’re going to have a great life together.”

“The best.”

My mouth claims hers in an all-encompassing kiss, chasing away years of loneliness and replacing them with my beautiful angel.

Epilogue 1

Gage

Four and a half months later

After bidding goodbye to my driver, I roll my suitcase towards the side of my Beverly Hills property. As I pass the house, I notice lights in the kitchen.

It’s good to be home.

I’m back in LA after a week in Australia and another in Singapore.

I can’t wait to see my girl again.

I crouch down to a low profile and rush in the direction of the pool house, carrying my suitcase, so the sound of the wheels doesn’t give me away.

It’s theme night at Dark Compulsion.

Lily started showing, so we’ve been MIA from the club. Since neither of us want to miss out on the naughty fun, we piggyback on the themes and role-play at home.

Tonight isdirty handyman and slutty, cheating housewife.

It should be hot as fuck.

I stand to my full height when I reach the metal gate. Afterunlocking it and closing it behind me, I enter the backyard. Once I check around to make sure the coast is clear, I head towards the pool house.

I don’t bother turning on the lights. The glimmer from the lights on the property shining through the windows is more than enough. I traded my bespoke suit for a pair of jeans and a checkered shirt on my private jet.

I kick off my shoes and step into a pair of work boots. I don’t bother lacing them. I tuck in the shoelaces so I don’t trip. I grab a baseball cap and slip it on backwards.
