I suck my lips in between my teeth to stop my sudden laughter. “Nah. It’s not really her thing, but I’m not too bad at it.”

 “You’re cool, India.”

 “So are you, little guy.”

When they leave us alone, I find it hard to breathe. I want to run away from this attraction, but I can’t let go. The invisible bars around me have become stronger than steel.

Warning bells echo in my chest and ring in my ears. None of this belongs to me, and I have no right to wish for it.

“I’ll just grab my bag from next door and meet you in the car.” I push my plate aside and stand. “Thanks for breakfast.”

“Leo wanted you to come in here.”

 “And you didn’t?”

Giovanni cocks a brow. “I never said that. Leo is a master manipulator. What he wants, he generally gets in the end.”

“I blame his father...” I start to walk away, stopping after a few strides. “And what do you want, Gio?”

He sits there, staring at me with that sexy scar on his cheek lit up in the daylight of his modern surroundings.

“I want watermelon for breakfast every day.”

 INDIA

I’ve eaten my weight in popcorn and drank way too much soda by the time the movie ends.

Now I’m way too comfy and sinking deeper into the comfy bed I’ve spent the evening lounging on next to Ana.

Her phone beeps from her bedside table. She rolls over to grab it, climbs off her big bed, and saunters across the room to her dressing room, carrying it with her to read the message. After a shrill squeal, she returns with a change of clothes draped over her arm.

“I’ve got something to tell you. It’s major.”

“Oh, yeah?” I sit up and check my phone. It’s only seven-thirty and I’m already wearing pajamas.

Her parents went out a few hours ago after they’d argued about which restaurant was better. We’re home alone and planning an all-night movie binge.

“I’m like the best friend of all best friends.” She grins, perching on the edge of the bed and looking quite pleased with herself.

 “I’m listening.” I laugh.

“Well, I asked Val to come over. I didn’t want to leave her out.”

“Proper girls’ night in.” I offer her my fist to bump, and we fake an explosion after they collide.

“But… that’s not all…” She runs bubblegum polished nails through her hair, the smile she's wearing stretching from ear to ear. “I mentioned it to Sebastian as well and uh… he’s bringing Fabian and Zac.”

“What?” My heart starts racing. “I thought we were having a girls’ night.”

“We are.” Her grin turns sly. “A girls’ night with the addition of a few insanely gorgeous guys. And this time you can’t disappear with that brother of yours.”

 Oh fuck.

“I’m not into Fabian,” I blurt out in a panic.

Ana’s brows snap together. “How could you not be? Have you got another good looking, mega-rich guy up your sleeve?”
