It’s unheard of for me to yield power, even for a few seconds. Yet I did––for her. My demons subsided, and she became my only focus––my weakness.

I’m dangerously aroused by everything India does. From loving weapons to reminding me of family bonds. I didn’t expect to feel anything for the girl when I brought her here or find myself struggling with possessive tendencies. But the chemistry sparking between us is off the charts.

Nevertheless, I won’t let it take control.

Finally releasing her hair, my arms drop to my sides. India licks the oozing slit of my dick, obediently cleaning up the last drops of cum, and sits back on her shins, blinking up at me.

My pulse goes wonky, and the blackest storm builds behind my vision. She studies me under ebony lashes, those ocean blue eyes of hers assessing how easily I’d become undone.

The evidence of my weakness works its way into her belly as she swallows, ingesting my cum like the good little whore she wants to be.

I’m lost in a few manic moments. The sound of my father’s voice haunting me. Without saying another word, I glance at my watch and note the time. We need to leave now, or she’d be late for school.

Tucking my dick away, I pull up the zipper and rake my fingers through my hair to garner a sense of calmness. It doesn’t help. My mind is clouded and from up here, she’s absolutely stunning.

“You have five minutes to clean up.” I twist away to leave the room.

“Wait… Gio…” India rises and reaches out for my arm.

I dodge it immediately. “You’re going to be late.”

“I’ll never tell anyone about Leo. You have my word.”

My brows pinch together. “Good, because your life depends on your loyalty tome, not Dré. Leo is my son, and you’re…” Another person I’d die to protect. Another weakness I swore I’d never have.

I stop myself short and take a step back, needing space.

“It’s okay,” she replies softly and folds her arms across her midriff. “I’m confused, too.”

INDIA

We didn’t speak much for four days. It’s not that I didn’t want to, since I did. But Giovanni wasn’t exactly oozing friendly vibes.

Both of us were clearly trying to pretend there was nothing happening between us. Our not-so-subtle glances had clashed across the dining table each morning. Yet neither of us chose to address the palpable tension.

Our daily routine was the same. I ate quietly while he sipped his coffee. Afterwards, he drove me to the school gate and was there to collect me later in the day.

My evenings were spent in my bedroom rather than in the library. I couldn’t bring myself to sit on the couch and stare at the coffee table. The swell of lust those memories would conjure is pointless.

There should be a defined, no bullshit expiration date on the feelings growing in my foolish heart. Unfortunately, I get the horrible feeling they’re going to linger long after I leave Blackwater.

I’m quickly learning that every type of love hurts. If that’s what this is. While wrestling the darkness surrounding Giovanni Souza had sucked me in, and when I board the jet to Italy, it would spit me back out again.

This morning, when I entered the dining room, expecting to see the table set for breakfast, I’d found it bare. Daenis scampered over to the small boy waiting for me in Giovanni’s seat.

“India.” Leo grins at me, all teeth and cuteness. “I like your dog.”

“Hey, Leo. She likes you too.” I smile back as Daenis licks his chin when he tries to stroke her. “Where’s Gio today?”

Leo giggles and slides off the seat. “She keeps licking me.”

“That's because she wants to be your friend.”

“I want to be her friend too.” He beams, moving closer to me, his tiny feet making no sound in a pair of slippers. “Will you have breakfast with us?”

I frown at him, my eyes all over the cavernous room, waiting for Giovanni to burst in, his temper unhinged. “I usually eat here… but…”
