The room exploded in clapping and hollering.

I saw the tension roll off four of them in the different parts of the room. They had been so fucking nervous.

“And what do you think?”

I turned and found Austin standing next to me.

His eyes were worried, and I was tempted to kiss that fear away. But he wasn’t out and we weren’t anything to each other.

Yet.

“It’s amazing. But I knew it would be when you blew me across the room withBring Him Home.” .

The tension finally rolled off him, and he burst in to a grin like I hadn’t seen on his face yet. He was delighted and relieved and…

I desperately wanted to kiss him.

Well, more than just kiss, really.

My phone beeped, and I pulled it out.

Chase: Get that longing lusty look out of here, Orback. Everyone can see it. If he’s not out, don’t do it. This is your excuse to step out. Take it.

I nodded, and shut off the screen. “Gotta meet someone out in the hall. Care to join me?”

“Sure.” He nodded.

I pulled the doors open, and stepped out of the room. Looking both ways, I chose the direction away from the front doors of the ballroom. Down the hall, up a flight of stairs, and to an “Employees Only” door. With another glance to check that no one was looking, I pulled it open and yanked Austin in with me.

There was no time to assess where we’d wound up before I was against the wall and Austin’s lips were on mine.

He was greedy. I could feel a smile on my face at his aggressiveness, and I happily gave into him for a moment, letting his tongue dance over mine and sucking on his in return. But after just a few seconds, I pressed against his chest and moved him back.

“Hold on, hot stuff,” I whispered. I looked around and it looked like we were in a hall with offices. “If you don’t want the world to know, you have to learn to curb that just a moment while we get to a safe place.”

“Shit,” he breathed. “I just—”

I put a finger on his lips. “Do not apologize. Just watch and learn, Padawan.”

Grabbing his hand, I led him down the hall a bit and turned the knob on one of the doors. It gave easily and I peeked in. There was no one there, and it didn’t seem to be an active office. I walked in and flipped on the table lamp in the corner, motioning for him to close the door, and lock it.

Leaning against the desk, I pulled him close. “I like you a lot Austin. But you’re not ready to be out. I can read it all over you like a cheap suit.”

“I’m not…” He tried to step away.

Not letting my grip loose on his hand, I shook my head. “There’s no right way to do this, Aus. There’s only your way, and you have to figure that out. Most of me and my friends are out, watch what we do. Make your own decisions.”

“But…well…I like you a lot too, Uriah.” He wove his fingers into mine, and squeezed slightly. “I’ve never met anyone who made me want to…”

“I never said I wasn’t willing to play along with you, Austin.” I smiled. “I’ll hide in the shadows for a while. Just a while, so you can figure out if you really want to do thisfor yourself. Do not come out because you think I have a nice dick.”

“I couldn’t do that.” He smirked. “I have no idea what your dick looks like.”

“We can solve that.” I raised an eyebrow suggestively.

He stuttered and turned red. “I…uh…”

Wrapping my hand around his neck, and pulling him close, I chuckled across his lips. “Not right now, sexy. Not here. But soon enough. There are other things we can do.”
