“Wait, is this for Xavier Renegade?” he gasped.

“Yeah, we were doing some early scenes for the next movie.” I took a sip of the beer.

“Please tell me you have a scene with Zachary?”

“Several, but not love scenes, and no nudity. We try to keep the Xavier Renegade series PG-13 at the worst.” I leaned in. “Wanna know a secret?”

“About Xavier Renegade? Hell yes.”

“I’m trusting you with this. We’re keeping it under tight wraps.”

“Like,Infinity Warwraps?”

“Yup.”

“You sure you want to tell me?”

“I do. It’s killing me. Promise to keep it to yourself?”

He nodded, intrigued. We really hadn’t told anyone this yet, but Zachary had signed on for three films and the writers thought it would be brilliant. I leaned in and whispered in his ear just loud enough for him to hear over the music.

“Zach is playing Xander Renegade.”

He gasped and slapped a hand over his mouth. “Xavier’s dead brother?”

“Yup.” I nodded and pulled back from his ear. I was sad that I did. He smelled amazing—masculine, with hints of ocean and fresh breeze. I had no idea what he was wearing, but it made me want to lick him from head to toe. I also had no reason to trust him with the twist in the story—that really had been kept under tight wraps.

I doubted he would tell.

“So, I know how I got here, but how did you?”

“I’m friends with Uriah, Noah, Maddox, Chase…and I guess the rest of UDLR. Some of our friends couldn’t make it tonight, but I’ve been friends with these guys since Parker and I met on set a few years ago.”

“Set?” My interest was piqued.

“Yeah, I’m a master key grip, and he was advising on the show I was working on.”

“Ooh, so you’re in thebiz.”

“Hardly,” he said. “I don’t get much work.”

“Why not?”

He paled and looked away. “I need to use the restroom.”

I put a hand on his arm before he could run. “Sorry. We don’t have to talk about that if you don’t want to.”

Jace cocked his head and looked at me. “What do you want with me?”

“I can’t get to know you?” I asked.

“Why would you want to? I’m not really anyone of importance and I’m not that exciting.”

Turning on the stool, I stared straight at him. He had the most wonderful whiskey brown eyes that matched honey highlights in the hair-gone-wild he was sporting. “Because I saw you across the room and I thought you were the most handsome man in here, and I wanted to meet you.”

The look of shock on his face was adorable. Again. I was starting to think that everything he did was going to be adorable to me.

“M-me?” He grabbed the beer and took a hard drink.
