“Sorry, house full of idiots, two of which are associated selkies,” corrected Alex.

“I still don’t understand about the cure,” said Lia.

“The Portland pack came up with a cure for mating,” said Killian. “I needed it to make the werewolf spell work.”

“Ah,” said Azure, sounding relieved. “There we go! That oneused to be human. You were giving me the weirdest vibes! I mean that one makes sense because of his double spirit.” She gestured to Sebastian, who made a confused noise. “But I could not make sense of what was going on with you.” Pellos looked perturbed to be pointed at.

“It really worked?” demanded Moira, sniffing at Pellos.

Pellos nervously pulled back and they all saw his ears fur over. “I think so,” he said, scratching anxiously.

Killian took his own sniff. None of the three of them smelled like anything.

“I don’t understand,” said Killian. “You aren’t mad?”

“Why would we be mad?” demanded Moira.

“I mean, we want a copy of the spell,” said Azure. “Although, we did leave my sister in the Library, so maybe they’ll give her a copy. Or maybe not. That librarian seemed a bit on the bitchy side.”

“And kind of racist,” said Moira looking annoyed. “Also, seriously, none of you could have shown up a day earlier?”

“No,” said Azure. “According to the fates, we could not.”

“I hate it when you say stuff like that!” growled Moira.

“Trying living with her,” said Rafe, with a shrug.

“I meant about the cure?” asked Killian.

“Why would we be mad about the cure? We try to give it out everywhere we go. Why do you think I had some on me?” Moira seemed like the statement was self-evident.

“Um, you’re not charging for it?” asked Hudson. “We really didn’t think you would ever give it to us. Yazmin and I were trying to figure out what our budget was to make an offer.”

 Moira looked horrified.

“We’re trying to save wolves here,” said Rafe. “The warlocks cursed us. We have the cure and it is our moral obligation to give it to everyone.”

“You really thought I wouldn’t help you?” demanded Moiraturning to Killian, tears filling her eyes.

“You’re from an established pack! We’re the Rejects. Everyone blames us for what happened to Greece. You were there for the werewolf spell and you had just spent a lot of time telling me that it was pack first and whatever I wanted second. And… I just… thought that even if you really loved me that you wouldn’t put me ahead of your pack.”

“What do you mean, if I really loved you?” she demanded. “Why would you doubt that?”

“I…” Killian floundered. Because he wasn’t cool enough to be with her?

“Bastian,” murmured Alex, but before Killian could register what Alex wanted, Sebastian reached out and shoved Killian in the middle of his back.

Killian grunted and stumbled forward in surprise. Moira, probably on sheer instinct, caught him, but the second her arms were around him it was as if Killian’s body rippled through a shift before settling back to human.

“I’m an idiot,” said Killian, softly, his arms curving around his mate.

“Yes, but I love you,” said Moira.

“Well,” said Alex, glaring at the pack, “I think we should all go into the kitchen and offer our guests some snacks if Pellos hasn’t eaten them all.”

“Oh, no thanks,” said Azure. “I mean, I’m all for snacks, but the lack of magic here is kind of rubbing me like sandpaper. I’m sure it will be better after Sebastian gets married, but right now, I’m kind of starting to freak out. We’ll have to come back and visit then.”

“Uh…” said everyone and turned to look at Sebastian.
