“That’s not so much a click as...” He growled and Lia felt like she’d taken a vibrator straight between her thighs. Everything went zing along her spine and she let out a peep of surprised arousal. He chuckled again and nuzzled into her neck, which made her echo his growl in a much tinier fashion.

“You like that?” he murmured, nibbling her earlobe. “Little Lia likes wolves with big...” He clicked his teeth in a sharp snap inches from her ear.

Lia giggled breathlessly, trying to worm her hands free to grab hold of some part of him that definitely wasn’t teeth.

“Yes,” she said, plying her own teeth to his shoulder. His chest rumbled in a growl that she knew she could never imitate. She nipped at him again. “I like this wolf.” Another bite and then she licked him. “Tasty.” Her eyes flicked up to his and she could see that there was a lot of wolf behind his eyes. “Need this wolf,” she whispered, shyly.

She didn’t remember being confident enough to tell someonethat she wanted them before. But with Alekos, it wasn’t confidence, it was safety. With him, she felt like she could ask for what she wanted and what she needed without risk or fear that it would be used against her.

His lips met hers, warm and tender, sweet and soft as he was hard in other places. She moaned in pleasure as he pushed into her. Why did he feel so perfect? Was he right? Had they been fated for each other? If so, then his body was meant for hers. The way his hands knew where she wanted to be soothed or where she wanted resistance and strength, was that fate too?

Alekos nipped at her earlobe again, and the sharp sting made her inhale in excitement. She liked his claws and teeth. She liked that he was a wild thing. She growled at him, and he answered with a snarl of excitement, and he moved faster, making her tense and gasp with pleasure. He liked it when she was wild too. Lia grabbed his shoulders, digging her fingers into him. She felt the muscles move under her palms, loving how she could feel his intentions with each movement. Lia could feel the love with which he touched her. She tried to return that love with her own. She arched and opened her hips, wanting him to have every pleasure she could give him. He groaned, growling his satisfaction, thrusting into her, and she gasped, clutching at him as her body gave up and she came hot and hard and clinging to him. They ended where they had begun, wrapped around each other, curled under the comforter. Lia felt sweaty and lethargic and never wanted to move again. Perhaps this was their fate—to be forever entwined and touching. If that was so, then it was a fate that Eliandra welcomed.

 You Belong to Me

 Eliandra

“Sebastian,” said Lia, and the wolf’s elbow slipped off the table as he jerked in surprise. “Sorry. Didn’t mean to startle you.”

“I was just thinking,” said Sebastian.

“It’s a nice place for it,” said Lia, looking across the bay, as she put the basket of plates and napkins onto the table. “Sort of an infinite amount of space for thoughts.”

He laughed. “Yeah. I was thinking about Anuket.”

“Sorry,” said Lia, feeling embarrassed. “I just don’t think we can stop her from turning up and raiding the pantry. She seems to think we’re related so that makes it fine. I don’t really know what to say to her.”

It had been a month and at least once a week, Anuket seemed to turn up for food and then fly off again. No one had complained about it, except when she took with food that had been earmarked for someone else’s consumption, but Lia still felt awkward about it.

“Itisfine. If random relatives don’t show up to eat your food, are you even a pack? It just... well, it occurs to me that if she’s an Ancient, one of the first Shifters, like Hudson and Yazmin say, well, then the first Shifters were bisexual as fuck.”

“I’m not sure it’s bi so much as pansexual,” said Lia. “I mean, if you can be anything then there really aren’t any limits on what you can be attracted to. Which makes me wonder about all those stories about Zeus.”

“Yes!” agreed Sebastian. “But then I was thinking about what Azure said about me getting married. And that doesn’t seem… If I’m… Well, if I’m just…”

“Extra in touch with your ancient shifter spirit?” suggested Lia.

“Well, yeah. But if that’s the case, then I don’t see how I can’t get married.”

“If I’ve learned anything from being here it’s that fate would never pair you up with someone who didn’t bring out the best in you,” said Lia. “You’re comparing yourself to some sort of stereotypical myth of marriage and that wouldn’t ever work. But while we’ve all faced problems with our mates, we haven’t ever had a mate who wanted us to be something we weren’t. Whoever you marry, it will be a relationship that’s meant for you.”

Sebastian stared at her long enough that Lia began to worry that she’d said something wrong.

“Thanks. I hadn’t thought of it like that. I’m different, so my relationship will be different. Huh.”

Lia laughed. “Glad I could help.”

“Has Anuket said anything about the canopic jar?” he asked, blushing and changing the topic.

“I said I had a memory vision when I touched it, and she said that sounded unpleasant. Then she poked at it, made a face, and wandered off. I’m not sure what that means, but I don’t think she is a very good barometer for what’s dangerous. She left it on the kitchen counter.”

 Sebastian snorted.

“Alekos thinks we should continue to keep it in the safe. Hudson and Yazmin want to x-ray it. But Trevor and Colin want to see their Mum again, and I said I would try.”

Sebastian grimaced. “Are you sure? Last time...”
