I’ve been going easy on you, and it’s like you don’t want me to.

Mayson

Do your worst, I can take it.

Colin

I plan to.

Mayson

So do I.

I smirk, knowing she will. At this point I’ll happily take any silly pranks she wants to play on me. Especially because I have the ultimate one planned on Halloween. She’s going to hate it, but it’s going to be everything I’ve ever wanted. And I can’t wait.

There’sone way to get me pissed off beyond belief and that’s for us to lose a game. Especially one that should’ve been aneasy win. Portland hasn’t won a game all season, and of course the first one they do is against us.

If my team would get me the ball like they’re supposed to then I could score like I always do. But of course everyone wants to be the star apparently. Even though that’s not their position, and I’m too good to be replaced.

If Mads could stop a fucking ball every once in awhile that would be great.

I wish we would just get back on the road after finishing the game instead of staying the night in a hotel tonight. The last thing I want is to be around any of these idiots. I’d much rather be back home and burying myself inside Mayson. I don’t care that she’s a virgin, and I don’t want to be gentle. I want to show her what she gets from me and give it to her from the start.

She’ll take it all, and want more, I’m sure of it.

I pull up her location on my phone again and see she’s at home, which fills me full of pride, but she may not be alone. Without thinking about it I FaceTime her, glaring at the screen with each ring that pierces the air around me while I’m alone for now.

Mayson answers with her face scrunched up in annoyance, her dark hair piled on top of her head in one of those messy buns I want to mess up even more. Her bare shoulder is showing from where her shirt is hanging off her frame.

“What do you want?” she snaps, and I notice she’s sitting at her desk so I must have interrupted her studying.

“I can’t check in on you?”

“Uh no, you can’t.” She grimaces.

“You answered.”

“I thought maybe you were dying, but since you’re still alive and well, I’m hanging up.”

“You’d care if I was hurt or dead then? Aw, you do love me.”

“No,” she deadpans.

“You’re counting down the minutes until I get back home, don’t deny it.”

“I’m hanging up now.” She ends the call and I bark out a laugh.

I drop my phone down next to me, excited to see what I’m going to come home to tomorrow. If she wasn’t already planning something I’m sure she is now.

Chapter 14

Mayson

The house is ready for Colin’s return. He’s conveniently missing all the laces from his left shoes, so weird how they just got up and walked away. But that’s not all.

I’ve hidden his TV remote and chargers he left behind. I know these are the things that will annoy him the most other than his soccer gear. But of course he took most of it with him, and has left some at school because I couldn’t find any.

Then there’s the ultimate plan I’ve set into place. It’s the riskiest, but it’s also going to have the biggest reward. After what he did with the whipped cream I knew none of my little pranks would be enough. While they’re funny and inconvenient just like what he’s done to me with my clothes, he’s stepped it up and so have I.
