“Yeah, Mayson.” Colin’s booming voice feels louder even though he’s speaking normally. “Would you like that?”

I glare at my stepbrother, remembering our challenge earlier, and knowing it’s only going to piss him off more when I say, “I’d love that.”

I expect Colin to glare at me, or dive across the table we’re sitting at to beat Garrett’s face in. But instead, he smiles. It’s that one that looks sinister. And promises that I’ll be the one paying for it later.

But I’m not scared, even though I probably should be. It’s too much fun to mess with him, and I always end up winning in the end anyways.

Chapter 27

Colin

My dad comes home while I’m sitting through my own personal hell. Listening to this fuckwad talk about himself and shit that no one cares about, especially Mayson and me. She pretends to be interested, but I can see the way her eyes glaze over. Then she agreed to go out with him, and it’s funny she thinks I’ll actually let her go.

Maybe I will, but I’ll make sure to send her out with her cunt full of my cum. She still doesn’t have any panties so it can drip down her legs while she sits there pretending to be interested in whatever boring shit he’s talking about. That may be more torture for her than me making sure she doesn’t go.

Now that’s an idea.

But all thoughts about that are derailed when the man, the bane of my existence, Walter Masters walks in.

“I didn’t realize we were having a party,” he announces, attempting to joke. Mayson’s mom, Juliette, laughs but the two of us just stare at them.

“Walter, nice to see you again,” Nancy greets, andGarrett stands up to shake my dad’s hand. The kid likes doing that apparently. I thought about crushing the bones in it when he shook mine, but I held onto Mayson instead and used her to ground me.

“What all have I missed?” my dad asks the group. He looks around, not making eye contact with me, which isn’t completely surprising.

“Garrett and Mayson are going to go out. Isn’t that exciting?” Juliette beams. Now I know I make a face, but the only person that catches it is my stepsister.

“How great, you two would make a great pair,” he says like it’s some partnership and not a relationship.

I scoff, unable to help myself. “What would you know about that?”

“Excuse me, son?”

“What would you know about a ‘great pair’? You a relationship expert all of a sudden?”

“I’m very happily married to the perfect woman, so I’d say yeah, I am.”

“Really? You sure you don’t need to find…extracurricular?” I see him tense, but tries to hold it together because there’s company.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about, and I advise that you stop now, son,” he threatens through gritted teeth.

I stand up, gauging everyone’s reactions. Garrett flinches, Nancy takes a sip from her wine glass, Juliette leans back in her chair, and my dad stands up straighter, watching me.

Mayson watches with rapt attention, not backing down. It’s like she’s waiting to see if I’m going to drag her into this. I look from her, to Garrett, then back to my dad.

“You’re right, they would make a ‘great pair.’” I swear I hear Mayson gasp in surprise, but I’m not done. “Then when she’s unsatisfied in bed because he doesn’t know what he’s doing, she can go find a real man to fuck on the side. What a happily ever after.”

There’s various sounds of shock around the table as I walk away, even with my dad calling my name I don’t turn around. I swear I hear footsteps, but they aren’t heavy like his. When I hear Juliette call out for her daughter I know it’s her.

I get outside, and go to open my car door when I’m pushed from behind, and turn around to see Mayson shaking her head at me.

“You’re such a dick, you can’t help yourself can you?”

“No, I can’t,” I sneer.

“You don’t own me. You don’t have any say about me or my life.”

“So you’ve said, but we both know that’s not true. Don’t worry, those people in there are too stupid to think I was talking about us.”
