I heard Dr. King and Dante talking, but I was too focused on my son to pay attention. Instantly in love, I never wanted to let him go. I would, of course, but not just yet. He was mine, and I’d earned the right to hold and dote on my baby.

I felt the bed move beside me, and I finally looked up from the baby, who had fallen asleep. Dante was on the bed beside us, and we were alone in the room.

“Where’s Dr. King?” I asked.

Dante smiled, reached out, and touched Blaze’s nose and then mine. “Definitely has your nose.” Dante chuckled. “Dr. King is downstairs. He’ll make a cup of tea and wait to make sure you don’t have any complications. I’m to let him know when your omega line closes completely, and then he’ll go. We have an appointment with him in two weeks.”

“I was rude. I should thank him.”

Dante smiled. “He said he understood, and it was thanks enough to see you so captivated by Blaze. Your magical block willstart to wear off, but your omega line should be closed before that happens.”

“We made a baby,” I said.

Dante grinned. “Yes we did, and it was quite fun.”

I smiled. Yeah, it was. “I love you,” I said.

“And I love you. Just so you know, Dr. King said that Blaze is seven pounds even and eighteen and a half inches.”

“Huh. I figured he would be bigger.”

“He’ll grow. He’s plenty big enough, and Dr. King said he was perfectly healthy.”

I smiled at Dante and then looked down at the baby in my arms. He was fast asleep, and it was so surreal to have him in my arms. My pregnancy wasn’t long, but now that he was here, it felt like it had lasted forever. “Did you want to hold him again? You gave him to me so quickly, and now I’m just sitting here staring at him.”

“No, you should hold him. I’ll get plenty of time with him,” Dante said. “I do want to get a picture of the two of you though,” Dante said just as I heard the camera sound from his phone. I looked up at my mate with wide eyes.

“You already took it?” Dante nodded and then turned his phone to show me the picture. I couldn’t stop my smile. “Look at us.”

“I am.”

I looked up and saw Dante staring at me with so much love in his gaze. “I look like a mess, but you are still looking at me like it doesn’t matter.”

“It doesn’t. I love you. I love all of you. Messy hair, throwing up with pregnancy sickness, moaning my name as I move in and out of you, all of you. All sides.”

I bit my lower lip. “I love you too.”

Dante got comfortable beside us again and made the picture he’d just taken his lock screen photo. “Do you mind if I share the picture? We can send out a birth announcement this way.”

“Oh, that’s a good idea. You should let your pack know.” Dante gave me a smile before he sent out a group text. “Can you add Todd? I want Todd to know, but I don’t know where my phone is.”

“Do you have his number?”

I told Dante the number, and he added it to his message to everyone in the pack. He typed a little more and then showed me the message.

Banner and I would like to let everyone know that Blaze Orion finally arrived today at 11:42 AM. He weighs 7 pounds and is 18.5 inches. As you can see, Banner is completely in love with our little guy, and I can’t blame him. Banner and Blaze are both doing amazing, and we can’t wait to get to know our new little bundle.

“What do you think?” Dante asked.

I swiped at my eyes again. “I think it’s perfect.”

“Good. Then I’ll send it and then turn my phone on DND, and we’ll spend the next several days bonding with our son.”

I couldn’t stop smiling. Dante did exactly what he said he would, and then he put his phone on silent before reaching over and placing it on his nightstand. He came back to me and the baby and slid his arm around my shoulders. I leaned into my mate, closed my eyes, and sighed.

“I can’t believe he’s finally here. He sure took his time.”
