Dante chuckled. “He was only two days past his due date.”

I sighed. “I know. I’m impatient, I guess.” A thought hit me. One that horrified me a bit. “Do you think our next one will be late too?”

Dante pulled me closer for a moment before his hold loosened. “If he is, we’ll make the best of it. Babies come when they’re ready.”

“I know. That doesn’t mean I can’t be impatient.” I remembered Cecil talking about his pregnancy. “Not that I would ever want my pregnancy to be only six weeks. I wouldn’t. That’s just…no. But I knew when he was due, and then when he didn’t come and I didn’t even have a red omega line, I got a little impatient.”

Dante kissed my head. “It’s understandable. He’s here now though, and we can spend time with him.”

I nodded. When I looked down at Blaze, I couldn’t believe he was actually here. Sure, I’d wanted him to arrive last week, but now that he was here, it was surreal.

“How are you feeling?” Dante asked. “Do you need anything?”

I smiled over at my mate. “I’m going to want to go to the bathroom when I can feel my legs, and maybe lunch? We missed it. Isn’t it lunchtime?” Dante chuckled.

“What would you like for lunch? Steak? Seafood? Chinese?”

Oh, he had me there, and when Dante’s chuckle turned to laughter, he nodded. The room was suddenly filled with the scents of Chinese food, and I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I looked around for the food and found it at the foot of the bed on trays.

“That’s going to be so good. Can I have a soda too? I’m not pregnant anymore, and I was so good and cut them almost completely out while I was.”

Dante chuckled. “You can have anything you want, baby. Give me a few.” Dante kissed the side of my head before hequickly moved off the bed. He went to the corner where we had the bassinet and brought it closer. He reached for Blaze, and after carefully handing him off to my mate, I let my arms fall to my sides. I wiggled my feet and smiled. The feeling was quickly returning.

Dante placed a tray over my legs, and on it were all of my favorites and, of course, the fizzy soda I loved. Damn, I was such a lucky omega. I knew that most alphas or sires would do the same for their mates, but Dante loved to spoil me. It had taken some getting used to, but I knew it was one of the ways he showed affection, and once I realized that, I stopped saying anything about it other than thank you.

“This looks so amazing. Thank you,” I told him. I turned my head up, and when Dante bent down to give me a kiss, I loved that he let his lips linger on mine for a long moment. It was absolutely perfect.

“You deserve this and so much more,” Dante said. “We’ll start with this.” He winked before he walked around the bed and rejoined me. I had to wonder how my life had become so amazing as I ate my favorite food and was able to steal glances at my newborn son. Then I looked over at the man on my right and knew. Dante was how.

Chapter 21

Dante

Istared down at the little guy in my arms as he guzzled—yes, guzzled—his bottle. He was absolutely perfect. But so was his daddy, so of course, the son that Banner had given me was perfect as well. He had quite the appetite, and it seemed as if he had put himself on a schedule, and he made sure he ate every three hours.

That didn’t leave much time for sleep, so Banner and I were living on naps. Thankfully, we didn’t have to worry about cooking, cleaning, or laundry. But finding time for a relaxing shower had become a challenge.

“That’s all right, little guy. Your daddy and I will eventually get to shower together again. For now, your daddy can take as long of a shower as he wants.” I smiled at Blaze as he continued to stare up at me while he took his bottle. He was three days old now, and Banner and I were absolutely in love. Not that we weren’t immediately. We were. But Blaze was such a good baby. He fussed when he wanted fed or needed to be changed, and he didn’t complain when either one of us wanted to hold him. Which was often. We couldn’t get enough of our little guy.

He finished his bottle, and I had just placed him up on my shoulder to burp him when I heard the shower turn off in thebathroom. Blaze let out a good burp, and then I changed my gentle pats to rubs. I was cuddling our son when Banner stepped out of the bathroom, completely naked.

I couldn’t help but appreciate the view. He was my mate, and I would always be incredibly attracted to him, but I also knew he had just given birth three days ago, and it was going to be some time before intimacy was even a thought. That was fine. I would wait forever for my mate to be ready to be with me in such a way again.

Banner seemed to notice me because he smiled at me. Either that or he was smiling at Blaze.

“You look so good with a baby in your arms.”

“So do you,” I told him.

“But I’m not holding the baby.”

“No, but you still look good. And you look wonderful when you hold him.”

Banner looked down at his stomach. It was almost as flat as it had been before he started showing, but there had been something incredibly sexy about him being pregnant with our child.

“Do you really think so? What if I always have this little bit of roundness?”

I rolled my eyes. “I will always be attracted to you, Banner. Pregnant, not pregnant, slender, rounded, heavily pregnant. Always. Are you honestly worried?”
