Oh.

What was that about?

“You two are clearly together, and I don’t go after girls in relationships.” The way he said it, Devin had no doubt there was a story there.

She was trying to come up with the words to tell him she wasn’t worried, when Logan stopped next to her, his eyes softening as soon as they met hers. “Sorry I’m late.”

“Late? You have to at least make it before the end to be late.” She motioned to the surrounding snowmen without any kids.

“I know. I’m sorry. I had to finish”—his gaze flicked to Greyson a moment—“work. It just wasn’t coming together.”

“I need to get going.” Greyson took a backward step in the direction of the church. “And you two look like you have it from here.”

“Thanks again, Greyson. You were a lifesaver.” She waved as he took another step away.

“Anytime.”

Greyson’s smile faltered when he glanced at Logan, but when she turned to look at Logan, he was looking at her.

“Forgive me?” His sad eyes nearly did her in.

“Of course.” Devin started gathering cups at the cocoa station that hadn’t quite made the trash. Less than a month ago, he’d told her she was more important than her parents’ work. Funny how Logan’s position changed when it washiswork and not her parents. No, he was nothing like her parents. He’d missed one event, not a lifetime of them. “It all turned out. Greyson jumped in to help.”

“I’m sure he did.” His tone was flat as he began helping tie up the trash.

She spun toward him. “What is that supposed to mean?”

“It means he’s interested in you.” He gave her a dismissive shrug. “I’m sure he was happy to step in and?—”

“What on earth makes you think he’s interested?”

He straightened as a less-than-humorous laugh filled the air. “I can tell when guys are interested in you. I got a front row seat for?—”

“Stop. He just made it very clear that he knows you and I are together and wanted to make it clear to you that he doesn’t go for girls who are in a relationship.” She poked her finger in his chest. “But I needed help. One of Hannah’s kids got sick, so she had to bail, then things came up with other people. And you didn’t show up because you had to work. You know who did show up? Greyson. And Greyson helping has no effect on the fact I’m your girlfriend, but I am thankful that he was here.” Another poke. “And you should be glad, or I would’ve had to do it all on my own.” One more poke. “So I don’t appreciate you making him feel bad about helping. Or me feel bad about accepting his help.”

Logan grabbed her accusing hand and pressed it to his chest. “You’re right.”

He tugged her over to Otis, then pulled her down to sit next to him. He wrapped an arm around her as he drew a deep breath. “I trust you and am glad you had help.” He seemed to freeze. “Wait, did you call yourself my girlfriend?”

Oh shoot.

They really hadn’t had a DTR, had they? Why did her mouth keep getting ahead of her. “I mean…I meant?—”

His lips landed on hers just long enough to send warmth through her veins. “I’m good with that.”

“Yeah?”

Logan rested his forehead against hers. “Very good. And you forgive me?”

She nodded. “You can make it up to me by helping clean up, then going out to the Miller farm with me. I have to meet with them today to finalize how we’re going to do the living Nativity out there on Wednesday.”

“As long as I’m home by eight. I have to polish up and send my synopsis for book four to my editor. She’ll let me know if I need to tweak it before she takes it to the editorial meeting.”

Right, work again.

“But for the next four hours, I’ll do anything you want.”

“Anything?”
