“I don’t want you to go to Atlanta with me,” she finally said, looking up and meeting his gaze. The first time she’d ever looked upon those blue eyes, she’d known he wasthe one. The only one. “I don’t need youto go to Atlanta with me because I’m not going anymore.”

His eyes widened just slightly. “You’re not?”

She shook her head as a tear slid down her cheek. Then she laughed at the sudden relief of having made that decision. She didn’t want to leave Blushing Bay.She had friends here. Family. And a husband.

“I don’t want a divorce either,” she said, voice cracking.

Sam reached for her hands and held them, gazing deeply into her eyes. “Really?”

“Really. I want to stay. With you.”

He took her into his arms and kissed her softly. Then he pulled away and looked at her. “I’ll do whatever it takes to make this work.Anything you ask, I’ll do it.”

“All I ask is that you love me,” she said.

“I always have,” he whispered against her lips, kissing her again, this time long and deep. When they finally broke away from the kiss, she smiled up at him, her heart leaping for joy.

“And one more thing,” she said.“Always come home to celebrate our anniversary.”

“You don’t have to worry about that. I’m going to celebrate having you by my side every day for the rest of my life.”
