I push back against his morning wood. “That’sbeen awake since six, too?”
He presses into me. “You assume it fell asleep to begin with.”
Turning in his arms to face him, I cover my mouth with my palm to mask my morning breath. “You’re full of surprises, gamer boy.”
He mimics me, palm over his mouth. “You mean my size? Yeah, the Vaughn men are very well-endowed.”
“O-Oh my God, you’reannoying,” I reply through a laugh, cracking up behind my palm.
“That’s not what you were saying last night.”
Heat unfurls in my belly as I remember not only all the things I screamed last night but the things Ifelt. With my free hand, I reach down between us and stroke him. “Gonna shower. You coming?”
He smirks, twitching under my touch. “Only after you do.”
This time, when I try to leave, he lets me, one step behind the entire time.
Back pressed up against the wet tiles, warm water spraying down on our heads, my nails digging into his skin, it’s the best morning shower I’ve had in a long, long time.
We emerge from the bathroom damp, satisfied, and grinning.
“I’ll have to freeball it until I get home,” he says as he picks up his shorts from the floor.
“All the better.” I meet his eyes in the mirror as I towel-dry my hair in front of the dresser. “Easy access for me.”
His gaze roves over my naked body while he gets dressed. “You’re a work of art, you know that?”
I roll my eyes. “Quit obsessing over me. Creep.”
He shrugs. “I don’t mind being a creep as long as you’re the center of my obsession.”
“Good morning!” comes a chirpy voice. “Are you guys awake?”
In the mirror, Alec raises a brow at me.
“It’s Leyana,” I tell him. “She brings me breakfast in the mornings.” Then I call out, “Be right there, Ley!”
“Damn, you’ve got your own room service here?”
“Shut up.”
Ruffling through the drawers for clothes, I grab a black jean shorts and sleeveless black crop-top with a grunge skull-head on the front.
Alec leans against the doorjamb, watching me get dressed. He’s fully dressed now, his damp hair hanging heavily over his forehead. His lips firm and supple. An inconspicuous love-bite on his neck—his own fault for making me feel so damn good in the shower. My heart flutters about in my chest with something indescribable as I look at him look at me. I hate it. Hate that my stupid heart knows how toflutter. So, I snap at him, “What?”
He shakes his head, and I want to punch that stupid smirk off his face. “Nothing.”
I brush past him and through the door. I find Leyana staring blankly out at the pool, seeming sad and vacant.
“Hey,” I say.
She whips around, an automatic smile sliding onto her face. “Oh, morning, babe.” When her gaze shifts above my head, I know Alec has come up behind me. “Vaughn.”
“Good morning, Leyana,” he says from behind me.
She gestures to the double doors. “You guys realize you slept with this wide open last night, right?”
Yep, that’s what happens went lust takes over. All common sense flies right out the door. Quite literally in this case.
