I don’t waste one minute and rush into a pair of sweats and run to my office. My helmet sits on the corner of my desk and I slam it on my head. I grow impatient waiting for my laptop to wake and when it finally does, I pound the keys logging into my account. I click on the video chat, tap her name, and wait for her to answer.
My chest rises and falls rapidly, and I can’t seem to wipe the goofy smile from my face. When the video connects, I’m grateful that my face is shielded by the helmet.
I clear my throat and in a very low and gravelly voice greet her.
“Hello beautiful.”
She offers me a small smile and I get a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.
“Hi King. How are you?”
“I’m good, but you don’t seem to be. What’s troubling you, Sunny Girl?”
She bites on her lip and her eyes move from side to side. “I just want to let you know that I can’t talk to you anymore.”
My rigid muscles grow weak and my body slumps.
“What? But why?”
“I started seeing someone and I just don’t think it’s right to be doing the things that we…you know, we do while I’m dating him. It feels like cheating.”
I sit a little taller upon hearing that. She wants to give this a real chance which means it’s time for me to put King on hold.
“Oh. I see. I wish I could talk you out of it, but I understand. I’m going to miss seeing her face and hearing your voice. My days and nights are better when I get to talk to you.”
Her cheeks blush with a shy smile. “Yeah, me too. But I think this is for the best. Maybe I can drop you a hello every now and then. Definitely the kind we’ve sent each other previously, but a simple friendly hello.”
I nod and rest my hand over my hard dick. I can’t help it. This is the way my body reacts to seeing her.
“Do you think we have time for one last goodbye? Something you can remember me by.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, King. There’s no way I’ll forget you.”
I witness her cheeks turn pink, thinking about our night together. “I’ll miss you, Sunny Girl.”
“I’ll miss you too, King. Take care.”
I make a heart with my hands and watch her giggle. She leans forward, blows me a kiss, then the screen goes black. Even though I know she’s mine, I can’t help the fact that I will miss the relationship King and Sunny Girl have. I brought her out of her shell and showed her a whole new world. I’d like to think that maybe it had a small hand in her opening up to me, Malik.
I broke down her walls and now I’ll get to relish in her beauty.
I spot Dahlia and Soleil as they walk in the door from where I sit. I made sure to get here early so I would be sure to be first. I told Soleil to be here at six-thirty while I arrived twenty minutes early. I ordered a sweet tea and small appetizer so that when they finally got here, it didn’t look like I was just waiting here for them. Even though I absolutely was. But we had to sell it to Dahlia that it is a coincidence that we are all here having dinner.
The hostess begins walking them to a table and I drop my fork to get their attention. Of course Dahlia is the first one to spot me and she beams the moment she does.
“Mr. Dare!” She waves, a hole in her mouth where a tooth recently fell out from.
“Hey. What are you doing here?” She abandons her mom and the hostess and runs over to hug me.
“We’re havin’ dinner. Are you havin’ dinner, too?” I stay seated and she practically climbs into my lap.
I stand and set her on her feet and trail my eyes up and down Soleil’s body as she walks over to us.
“I am. Hello Soleil.” Her pink lips spread into a sweet smile.
“Hello Malik. Funny seeing you here.”
“Yes. Funny.” I wink at her then look back down at Dahlia. “Would you ladies like to join me? My brother was supposed to meet me but he had to cancel at the last minute.”
