“Can you?” Marc questions with a grin plastered on his face. “You think about me fucking my fist wearing nothing but a robe, Princess?”
“Inyourdreams, Marc.” She rolls her eyes. “Calm down with your big dick energy and watch your language around Gigi.”
“I’m sorry, Gigi.” Marc says sympathetically as he turns to face her.
“Oh, please.” She waves her hands in the air. “Don’t stop being horn dogs on my account. You all are keeping me young.”
“Well, who wins?” Avery says, clapping her hands together.
“I’m not picking anyone,” I admit, crossing my arms over my chest and leaning back in my chair. “You all told me who laid down what cards. It’s not fair for me to choose now.”
“Come on.” Logan stands, throwing his hands in the air. “I totally won that shit. Just the tip is the perfect fill in the blank.”
“Would you give it up already,” Emiline huffs. “Just the tip is never perfect. In any aspect of life.”
“I swear to God, if you don’t lock her up.” Logan turns to Marc and Thomas. “How the fuck did you allow her to grow up?”
“I’m allowed to do whatever I want,” Emiline snaps back. “I’m a grown adult, whether you like it or not.”
“I don’t like it,” he snaps at her. Closing the gap on the two of them and coming face to face with her. “I. Don’t. Fucking. Like. It.”
“We’ve accepted it.” Thomas shrugs his shoulders. “You can too.”
“She’s even legal drinking age,” Avery adds with a laugh. “Best night of my life that night we went out.” Emiline has gotten close to us over the last couple of months and her and Avery have really hit it off. They are practically the same person and Avery needs someone just as wild as her in her life.
“I love a wild girl,” Gigi adds.
“My head can’t take all of this in one night,” Logan says as his hands come up to his temples and rub them with his pointer finger.
The group continues their bickering back and forth when I feel Thomas’ large hand splayed across my thigh under the table. A chill runs down my spine the same way it always does when he touches me or is in close proximity. My body instinctively leans into him.
He leans into me just enough that no one else could notice it. “You want to take a walk and get away from this mess for a bit?”
“Yes, please.”
“You head out first,” he tells me with a head tilt towards the back door. “I’ll meet you outside in a couple minutes so that they don’t start asking questions.”
I nod, understanding what he’s saying, because I’m not ready to answer questions yet. Especially since I haven’t told Kali or Avery what’s going on.
I slowly move to get up while the table continues to argue. I look to Gigi who is so engrossed in their conversation and laughing at them as if it’s a comedy show happening. I don’t say anything as I exit the kitchen and head out the back door to the open deck. The cold air hits me like a brick wall. I wrap my arms around myself and rub my exposed arms to cause some friction to warm me up. I didn’t expect to come outside again tonight, so I left my sweatshirt in the bedroom on the other side of the house.
The cold doesn’t last long when I feel warmth wrap around me like a sweater. Thomas stands behind me with his front pressed to my back and I feel his solid muscles against me as his arms circle me. His body is larger than mine and made of steel, but I melt into him.
“Hey, you,” I smile, even though he can’t see my face. “Long time no see.”
Our height difference allows him to rest his chin on the top of my head. “Too long if you ask me.”
“It’s been all of two minutes, Thomas.”
“Like I said,” he presses a kiss to the top of my head. “Too long, if you ask me.”
My body spins around and he doesn’t move from where he’s standing. Our bodies melt back together as my arms wrap around his waist and my chin tips up so I can look him in the eyes. His large arms wrap around my neck as he tips his head down to meet my gaze and I can’t help the smile that forms on my lips.
“Well, aren't you the sweetest?”
“No, baby.” His smile meets mine. “I think we both know, you’re the sweet one.”
I don’t reply to him as I continue to stare into his eyes. Deep ocean blue that glistens from the reflection of the moonlight outside. Slowly, he tips his head down and his lips are on mine. It’s a soft kiss. It’s a kiss that tells me this could be more or that thisismore. I’ve wanted this for so long too. Despite both of us not wanting to do relationships, I know deep down that Thomas is different. I know he would protect my heart.
