Cora
Igaped out the window of the penthouse suite of The Liberty Casino& Hotel, taking in the spectacular views of the New York City skyline. By the time we’d landed, it was past midnight, and all the enormous buildings were lit brightly with what looked to be a million twinkling lights, while the Empire State Building towered over all of them.
I couldn’t wait to see what New York looked like in the daylight.
“It’s beautiful,”I whispered, my hands pressed against the huge glasswindows.
“Yeah, it is,”Fox said from behind me, his voice low and gravelly. I didn’t realize he’d beenwatching me, he’d been tipping the concierge for bringing our bags to the room, but as I turned to face him, he was leaning against a wall, watching me in the way he always did.
Like I was the most precious gem on the planet.
Our eyes met across the room, and heat crawled through me as hisgaze roamed down my body. The memory of him touching me on the plane roared to life as I remembered how amazing it felt when he made me come.
I wanted that again.
With the way his eyes darkened, I wondered if he wantedthattoo.
“Shall I show you around, baby girl?”he said, clearing his throat, andsnapping us out of the trance we’d fallen in.
“Sure.”
The suite washuge, but Fox told methatit wasn’t as big as thepenthouse suite at Onyx, promising methatwhen we got back to Vegas, we’d stay the night there so I could seejusthow big itreallywas.
The interior design of the suite was chic, a complete contrast to theoutside of the building which looked like it was centuries old. It looked more like an apartment you could live in rather than a hotel room.
I’d never known a hotel room to have a fully equippedkitchenette, an office, and a huge open-plan living and dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows. A door led out onto a balconythatran the full length of the suite where you could take in the view of Central Park. It also had three bedrooms, each with enormous ensuites and spa baths.
Butthen, it wasn’t like I had any experience with staying in hotels.
“Which room am I sleeping in?”I asked Fox when he’d finishedshowing me around.
Truthfully, I’d wanted to sleep in the same bed as him since the nighthe stayed with me a few weeks ago, Ijusthadn’t had the confidence to ask him. Because he’d never asked me, I assumed he didn’t want me in his bed.
“You can have whichever room you want,”he replied, his eyes fixedon me.
“Okay.”My gaze dropped to the floor so my disappointmentwouldn’t show.
He stepped forward, gripping my hips.“But I’d quite like it if you werein the same bed as me, baby girl. I’m not sure I can go another night without you sleeping in my arms.”
A mix of emotions hit me like a tidal wave, almost knocking me off myfeet. I’d never been in love before but somehow I knew undoubtedlythatI was falling in love with Fox. I only hoped it wouldn’t end with my heart being shattered, becausethere would be no way I’d survive the devastation of losing him.
Fox leaned forward and placed a delicate kiss on my lips. Every timehe kissed me, a rush of euphoria zapped through me. It was a feeling I never wanted to be without.
“It’s getting late, baby girl, we should try and get some sleep. Unlessyou need something to eat? I can order you room service.”
I wasn’t sleepy. After Fox had made me come on his fingers, I’dsnuggled in his lap and dozed off for the rest of the flight, content and sated in his arms. But he had a long day ahead of him with the interviews he would be carrying out, and I knew if I told him I wasn’t tired, he’d insist on staying awake with me.
“I wouldn’t mind a shower before bed,”I replied, hopingthatthe warm water would help me get to sleep.
Fox’s grip on my hips tightened, and a devilish smile crossed his lips.“You want some company, baby girl?”
Like being struck by a bolt of lightning, my entire body froze. Theblood in my veins turned to ice as a memory sparked to life. A memory of me, naked and terrified, while Dwayne watched as I showered.
In the deepest recess of my mind, his voice began to echo, telling me all the horrific things my new owner was going to do to me as his leering gaze gawked at my body while he masturbated.
Nausea began to churn in my belly, the room around me going out offocus as I was thrown back intothattiny shower cell, scared out of my mind for my life. A tremble started in the tips of my fingers, working its way through me until my entire body was shaking with fear and my knees threatened to collapse.
“Hey, baby girl, where did you go?”Fox’s soothing tone echoed fromsomewhere around me. I wanted to scream. Beg him to help me, but an iron chain had wrapped itself around my throat, preventing me from releasing the anguish building. His warm hand gently cupped my cheek, breaching the thick bubble of panicthathad encased me.“Cora, talk to me. Whatjusthappened?”
