“But why?”

“I’m falling for you both!” I wailed and started to sob. Fuck, I was cryingagain.

“Oh, my god, Will, that’s—”

“It’s awful!” I cried harder.

I was pulled against Jason’s chest. “It’s not awful, Will. It’s amazing. Why are you upset?”

In some dim corner of my mind I knew I should just stop talking, but my mouth had other ideas. “I know you don’t care about the power, and I know we didn’t have an agreement, but it felt wrong to go on the date but I didn’t want to be clingy, you know?”

There only silence. So my mouth needed to fill it.

“You’ve both been so wonderful to me. And you’re both so….” I waved one hand around while still pressing my face into Jason’s chest. His lovely, lovely chest. “Sexy. And nice. And I like it when you hold me between you. Jason, you have the best nipples.” His chest shook, but he held me tighter so it was okay.

“Will, we feel the same way about you.” Cole stroked my back. “We want you to stick around, to be part of our relationship.”

I sucked in a breath and sat up to stare at Cole. I wiped my eyes and my nose with my hand. Gross, but this was important. “Like a boyfriend?”

He pulled me in for a kiss. “Exactly like a boyfriend.”

“Will.” Jason put his hand next to Cole’s. “You were in our thoughts every single day while we were apart. We want to be with you.” His eyes burned with intensity as they met mine. I melted a little inside. Then his phone rang. Dammit.

Jason palmed the phone but didn’t answer it right away. He was still looking at me. His eyes were so, so pretty. He snorted, then told me, “Your eyes are pretty too, Will. Look, we should probably have this conversation when you’re not high. But you need to know. I might not be ready to say any big words, Will, but I am committed to you and to this relationship. Cole and I both are. Do you hear me?” I nodded, speechless. He finally answered the phone and turned away.

“Come here.” Cole patted my leg and then tugged on the covers. I scooted back to the head of the bed and he tucked me against him. Jason’s voice was soft on the other side of the room. Cole pressed a kiss to my forehead and then smoothed back my hair.

I hugged Cole and said, “I’m sorry I got so emotional earlier. I know it’s too soon to pressure either of you about your feelings.”

He chuckled. “We can just blame it on the Vicodin.” He looked over to where Jason was standing by the window, still on the phone.

“Okay.” This was exhausting. I closed my eyes against Cole’s chest.

“I am so happy you’re ours, and Will? I’m falling for you too.”

“Okay. Good.” I didn’t dream the rest of the night.

Chapter Forty-Four

Cole

I caressed Will’s head as he slept. His arm was thrown over my chest and his face was tucked into my neck. I’d have to make sure he was flat on his back pretty soon, but I loved holding him.

And knowing he was falling in love with us? That was everything.

I turned my head as Jason dropped the phone on the nightstand and climbed into bed on the other side of Will. “Any news?” I asked.

“Brian didn’t really have an update. I think he’s trying to figure out how angry I am at him about not telling Will you weren’t in a coma.” He looked tenderly down at Will. Jason was such a goner. I felt a surge of love and affection for him. He’d fought so hard against falling for me; I could tell it was going to be the same with Will. He couldn’t help being naturally more cautious. It was just the way he was wired.

“If we could have a do-over I’d have Will come join us as soon as he was out of the hospital.” Jason pressed a kiss to Will’s shoulder. “We would never have left him alone if we’d known it was Will the asshole is after.”

“He’s aware, Jason. And our leaving him behind is probably part of why he’s feeling insecure with us. We just have to make sure we show him that we’re keeping him from now on.”

“You love him already, don’t you?”

“Yes. But don’t feel pressured. I got there before you did when we started out. You saw the light eventually then, and you’ll do the same now.” I smiled winningly at him.

“Asshole.”
