PROLOGUE

***Ellen***

I’m the princess of the Death Dealers MC. No one can touch me.

Literally.

It’s been four years since I lost my old man, and I haven’t been with anyone else. Haven’t even dated. I wasn’t ready before, but I am now. The problem is none of the men I know will come close to me. They’re either scared to death of Gage, my brother—the president of the MC—or Chopper, my father and former president.

However, I think I may have found the perfect candidate—Einstein, my brother’s VP and best friend. I don’t know how I overlooked him all this time. He’s hot, and he may just be exactly what I need.

Let Operation Seduce Einstein begin.

Six weeks ago

Sitting at the clubhouse bar, I stare at the club logo on the wall—a grim reaper dealing the death card from a tarot deck. As the daughter of the former president of the Death Dealers MC, the image is all too familiar. I think I knew what a reaper was before I could even talk. The club motto is inscribed on the motorcycle muffler beneath the logo—“Death before disloyalty.” These men take that motto seriously. Four years after the death of my old man, they’re still as loyal to him as they were when he was alive.

There’s a party going on. My brother, the current president of the MC, just got back from Jacksonville, where he was handling club business. Members from another club, the Black Snakes, are here as well. The clubhouse is teeming with men, and I’m here sulking over my beer while my four-year-old son sleeps in my father’s room in the back.

Such a glamorous life.

Rolling my eyes, I turn and lean against the bar. A couple guys are deep into a competitive game of pool. Groups of men are gathered around the pinball machine and the video poker, and even more are around the PlayStation. Smoke swirls around the room, a mixture of cigars, cigarettes, and weed, the scents mixing with all the leather and testosterone. I should grab my son and go home, but I just don’t want to be alone tonight.

“Hey, Ellen!”

I turn to see Raven, my brother’s old lady, heading toward me, clutching a blonde’s hand.

Salvation.

“Hey, girl. Thank God you’re here. I was about to lose my mind.”

“With all these hot guys running around here?” the blonde asks.

“Ellen, this is Dana. She’s Ace’s old lady,” Raven introduces us, then turns to Dana, explaining, “Ellen is Gage’s sister.”

Ace. The president of the Black Snakes. I’ve seen him around here before, and he’s hot.

“Nice to meet you, Dana.”

“You, too.”

Dana orders a beer from the Hellhound working the bar, and Raven gets a soda. She’s only a few weeks shy of her nineteenth birthday, engaged to the president of a motorcycle club, and can’t legally have an alcoholic beverage. Someone tell me what’s wrong with that picture.

“So, Ellen… Dana was right. Why haven’t you snagged one of these men?” Raven asks.

“I’m Chopper’s daughter and Gage’s sister. That’s enough to keep them at bay. That or they still see me as Eddie’s old lady. None of them will touch me.”

“Bummer,” Dana says, taking a pull of her beer.

“Tell me about it. It’s not like I’m looking for a patch. I just wanna get laid.”

“What about Dr. E?” Raven asks. “Seems if there’s anyone who wouldn’t be afraid of Chopper or Gage, it would be him.”

Tipping my head to the side, I follow Raven’s gaze, regarding Einstein carefully. He’s Gage’s best friend, and I’ve known him forever. The women’s voices fade into the background.

“That cute one in the corner?” Dana asks.

“Yep, that’s him,” Raven confirms.
