“And that fucking headache of a prisoner,” I say, smiling at my brother.
“Nope.” Gunner lets his arms fall below his head.
“Bullshit,” I snort.
“She is just a pest now.”
I know my little brother is lying because he still sneaks into her room that she shares with Eve now. He’ll watch her while she sleeps but refrains from touching her. Though each night he inches closer and closer. I don’t like the hold they have on each other, but then again, she seems to have some kind of hold on all of us. Myself included.
“Who are you trying to fool with that lie,” I laugh.
“It’s not a lie,” he defends.
“I’m pretty sure the tattoo on your chest says otherwise,” Baron remarks, looking up from his computer.
“Agreed,” Nik says.
“Fuck both of you,” Gunner grumbles.
“Oh, is G -” Nik’s taunting is interrupted by someone hysterically screaming into the walkie.
“What the fuck?” Gunner flips onto his feet.
“Please help me,” a woman cries. “Please someone help me. They took us and I don’t know where she is. They’re going to kill her. PLEASE!!!”
“Who is this,” Gunner growls.
“Collector please, I swear I didn’t want to…” She starts to sob even harder. Nik snatches it from him when the line goes silent.
“Piper,” Nik shouts.
“Beast, I am sorry! I didn’t run away I swear,” she starts to scream. Thankfully she took her hand off the button because my ear drums were about to explode. Girl has got a pair of lungs.
“She is having a panic attack and you two aren’t fucking helping.” Baron sighs.
“I don’t know..” She is back to sobbing and I can’t understand what she is trying to say.
“Piper, you need to take a deep breath and tell us where you are.” Baron tries to soothe her.
“Solitary but the pitch black one,” she blurts.
“We’re coming, just breathe.”
“No, no, please, please I’m sorry. Please,” she starts to scream, panicking again.
“Piper, you aren’t in trouble. We are coming to get you out and you will have to tell us what happened. No one will hurt you,” Baron promises.
“Okay,” she breathes. “Hurry, they have her.”
We all start moving out of his office and towards the staircase. Shadow and Eagle follow as well. I am not sure how I feel about them right now, especially after what I found out. That outside source has been very informative. I should just kill both of them given everything, but they’ll stay for now or at least so I can keep an eye on them. The plan will come together soon, and then I can really test their loyalty. I don’t truly trust this source, but they haven’t been wrong so far.
I just don’t think our plan will come together so soon because if who was taken is who I think it is; then my whole year just went to shit. I can almost guarantee I know who took said person and if it’s true I’ll let Gunner deal out that punishment. Bastard can be so impulsive to the point that he throws a wrench into all my plans. But would he really jeopardize this?
We round the corner in the basement to the solitary hall. Sitting strapped to the chair with his throat slit, is one of my new guys. Young kid but ambitious and loyal. He used to run for us when it came to the other building, but I promoted him and brought him to this one. I let the outside source train him. They said that he followed orders and never questioned them.
“What the actual fuck,” Gunner yells, looking at his corpse.
“Piper,” Nik shouts.
