Luckily for Alley, he isn’t allowed to touch her since Gunner and Baron have made their claim for her. Unfortunately for her, he holds a grudge and may bend the rules to make her pay.

But it’s not really the Little Minx’s fault for Vaughn’s nature or current state. I blame that woman. She fucked his head up way more than his dad did. We were super young when she took us and our parents were murdered.

My biological parents and his had been friends forever. After college, and I was born, my parents frequently travelled to visit them. Melinda had been a next-door neighbor. Every time we visited, she was always there andscared me to death so badly that I would hide in the closet till she would leave, or my mom would come looking for me.

It was supposed to be our last night before heading back home, and Vaughn’s dad, Miles, decided to have a goodbye dinner. Melinda and her sorry piece of shit husband, Adam, attended with Gunner. Vaughn and I were playing upstairs while Gunner was in bed, and we heard the muffled arguing and commotion. It wasn’t until I was going for my foam sword when I heard a loud bang followed by a high-pitched scream. We went sprinting into the dining room. The scene that was in front of us, is something no kid should ever have to witness.

My dad’s head was cranked back, and Adam had the barrel of a gun down his throat. Vaughn’s mom, Jazzy, was lying in a pool of blood with a small hole between her eyes. Melinda was crawling off Miles’ lap covered in blood and a knife in hand.

Adam was staring me dead in the eyes with an evil grin as he pulled the trigger. I watched as my dad’s skull exploded in the back covering Adam’s unwashed dirty jeans in brain matter. My response to everything was to freeze. No flight or fight, just freeze and stare between Jazzy’s hairsoaking up her own blood and my father’s half blown off head.

My mom, Tilly, was quick to sprint towards me, picking me up and yanking Vaughn’s wrist as she ran past. Melinda jumped in front of us before we could get to the door. As quick as lightning, she drove that knife through my moms’ throat. We went crashing to the ground and my small self started to put pressure on the gaping hole the knife left behind. I screamed and screamed for her to get up. Then cried for her to stay with me as I watched the life drain from her face.

Melinda pried me out from her lifeless arms while I flailed and tried to fight her to get back to mom. I kicked, scratched, and bit to get free but to no avail. Adam had grabbed me and threw me down on the hardwood floor, and when I tried to stand up, I slipped in her pool of blood. They laughed and mocked me until Adam was ripping down my shorts with one hand and holding me down into the pool of blood with the other. The events that followed are a blur at this point. I have put a mental block on that day for the most part. Wellhehas at least.

After that night, my best friend was like a robot. He did everything Melinda told him to do, while I, on the other hand, tried to still fight. She would sneak into our room atnight, while Adam was collecting some unfortunate soul. She would always take him first. He wouldn’t cry, no, he would just disassociate. She would drag me away after she was done with him and do what she pleased until he came out of that state. Let’s just say my fight died out after the first several months of that.

Once she dragged Baron into hell, she backed off for a bit. As far as I know she never molested Baron or Gunner, but the mind games that were played between all of them were ones of nightmares. Then you add the constant drunken beatings from Adam, and it messed them up on a whole new level. Well, I will say it did to Gunner at least. Baron has always been psychopathic and distant. Though, Melinda enrolled Baron and I in every mixed martial arts and boxing class she could. She would tell me that it was so that I could be the killing machine when it became time. Baron, on the other hand, didn’t give her a choice. He was over getting his ass kicked by Adam, and Melinda was scared of him enough to do what he said.

The unfortunate night that Carson came into our lives, was the night Melinda caught Adam fucking her mother Angela. Now, Melinda had already been having an affair when she first took me but that ended after Baron showed up. Needless to say Adam and Melinda’s marriage wasn’t the greatest, but shestill went into a jealous rage and killed them both. Well more like slaughtered them. At least that is what we were made to believe, I’m not sure that’s the full truth.

Carson’s mom, Lucy, was a single mother and had been visiting her father’s grave after her night shift at the diner. She just happened to stumble on the five of us burying their bodies. Melinda thought it was a good time to put my skills to the test. Before I could give Lucy a quick death, she cried saying her son was in her car sleeping. Lucy only let that piece of information slip so that he would be spared and wouldn’t be alone. Unfortunately for her, that backfired horrendously.

Melinda, being the bitch she is, grabbed Carson from the car and dragged him to his crying mother. She forced me to hold Lucy down and held a gun to Carson’s head until he took his own mother’s life with a pocket knife. Melinda couldn’t handle his crying for his mother so she was about to pull the trigger when Vaughn stopped her and convinced her that Carson could be beneficial. Sometimes I wonder if death would’ve been a better option.

I think that was the last straw for me, though. I nearly killed her when she came into our room for her nightlysession and tried to kiss me after years. She never tried again after that.

Right before my 19th birthday, Gunner came into the house covered in blood from head to toe. He wouldn’t tell us what happened but his eyes never strayed from Melinda or Carson. Vaughn said that he thought she finally broke him so, we executed our plan on getting rid of the bitch that night. We did what we felt she deserved then burnt the house down.

Because this is all we knew, we kept Hells the same but made it our own with new rules and new contracts. It’s worked out so far and the girls usually comply. Except for Annie, which was odd for her after Michelle, but this place can make anyone snap.

Needless to say, Alley hasn’t been here a full 24 hours and has already stirred up immense trouble. She has a major attitude problem and knows which buttons to push. It is definitelyhisfault that I got in her face when she told me to go fuck myself. But the second she called me a Pretty Boy, I was going to snap. The Little Minx didn’t stop there, no, she added an invite that my monster will surely act on. Her licking my bottom lip was the key that opened his cage. Iwouldn’t define her as stupid but glutton for punishment definitely.

The images of her seductive smile and defiant eyes are starting to invade my mind again. Not to mention I can still taste her on my lip and the sting in my side adds to my need to have her.

I rub my eyes with the heels of my palms trying to get rid of her face, but it feels hopeless at this point. So I just light another cigarette and fill my lungs with the toxins.

I wouldn’t say I am obsessed with the minx yet, but damn. I want so badly to get her on her knees and fuck that pretty mouth of hers. The other option would be to break every single bone of hers. I’d prefer the former at this point, but I’ll take the other if I have to.

“I get the feeling.” Baron sneaks up on me.

“I don’t know how Gunner didn’t kill her,” I say.

“Talking about me?” Gunner pops out from behind Baron.

He has always been the sneakiest out of all of us. That is why we chose him to do most of the collecting for both buildings.

“Just surprised you kept it together for so long.”

“It wasn’t easy,” he laughs. “But Alley is something special and always has been. I don’t want to snuff out her light just yet.”

“What are you three talking about?” Vaughn jogs up almost out of breath.

“Your raging boner for my Little Devil,” Gunner chuckles, putting his arm around Vaughn’s shoulder.

“Get the fuck off me, G,” Vaughn growls. “I don’t have one for the chunky insolent broad.”

“You sure about that,” he retorts, wiggling his eyebrows.
