“Don’t tell him to suck it. He will,” he joked, knowing the man who was now his husband. “He’s incorrigible and he loves giving head.”
Where he once would worry about hurting one of his partners with talking about his relationship with another, he no longer felt like that.
He.
Had.
Peace.
That was something they all had in common. They could share and no one was ever left out.
When she stared into his eyes, she saw he was calmer, and now, so was she.
“We’ll be good,” she said. “I just need to figure out what to do.”
He kissed her on the tip of the nose.
“I know that you’ll figure it out. Just know that we’re all here to help you,” he admitted. “At the end of the day, Elizabeth, Wyler has to make his own choice. He has to walk that road, and it won’t be your fault if you can’t talk him out of it.”
Still, her heart hurt.
All she wanted was to keep him with them. Life was very unfair, and she knew it, but still…
Only, before she could answer him regarding Wyler, her phone on the desk buzzed.
Getting up, she crossed to it, and picked it up. The whole time, Ethan checked out her ass.
Sue him.
He was a male.
“Yes?” she asked, answering the phone.
While she was listening to her secretary, she was staring at Ethan.
Well, the universe came through again.
She needed a distraction, and one was delivered to her.
“I’m going to have my security detail bring me up my go-bag,” she admitted. “They can come in after I’m changed. Our visitor will have to wait a few minutes.”
Then, she hung up.
“What’s going on?” Ethan asked, picking up her destroyed panties and dropping them in the garbage beside her desk. “My bad on those,” he added quickly.
Oh, well, her panties were the least of her issues now. With her team still not there, she had to take care of something that popped up.
There was no way she could saddle them with a case when they haven’t even dropped their gear, and checked out their temporary homes.
That was douchey behavior on the boss’ part.
“Apparently, the Chief of Reservation Police has just arrived,” she said, as she pulled on her suit to get presentable for when Ivan reached them. At the same time, she was sending a text to him.
Blackhawk lifted a brow.
“Uh-oh.”
Oh, he didn’t know the half of it.
