People left.
What she was feeling in that moment was something she’d bet she’d never feel again.
“Yes,” she said, giving him that. “Just don’t ever forget me,” she added, running her fingers down his cheek with nothing but tenderness.
His heart kicked in his chest.
How could he?
Once more, fate proved to be his undoing. Even with something as simple as sex, he was going to hurt afterward.
But still, he’d do it.
Because she compelled him to. The way her mouth tasted, and moved over his, and the way she felt pressed to him.
Rayna was so much smaller than him, and all he wanted to do was enjoy this moment before it was taken from him too.
“Bed?” she asked, letting him decide.
Rayna already knew what she wanted.
HIM.
When he nodded, she smiled at him, and ran her hands through his hair, pulling the deepest, whiskey-warm moan from him.
God.
It sent chills across her body.
When he began carrying her inside, he kicked the door closed behind him, locking the door, inadvertently. It was just something he did automatically from being on baby-bird watch.
As he was carrying her to the only hallway he saw, she already had his shirt open, and halfway off of his body.
Holy shit.
He couldn’t think.
Maybe that was for the best, since then, he couldn’t fuck this up.
That was the last thing he wanted.
“Left,” she said, as she was doing something incredibly wicked to his ear.
When he got them into the room, he couldn’t focus on anything but her.
Well, that and the scratching on the door from Beau. Apparently, the dog was joining them. After putting her down, Caspian let the dog in, and when he turned again, he nearly fell over.
She was already getting naked.
This was somehow a miracle, and he knew it. For some reason, she wanted him.
As she let down her hair, it cascaded down her back, and reached all the way to her hips.
“I suggest you drop your pants, Marine, because I’m feeling aggressive.”
Oh, shit.
He’d never dropped his pants so fast in his whole damn life. When they were off, she moved at him, and Rayna put her hands on him.
