As she ground down on his lap, he knew he was slipping, and slipping fast.

“Caspian!” she shouted, as her world broke apart and Rayna came so hard that it stole her breath.

And he was right behind her.

That bright explosion of lights popped behind his eyes as Caspian fell into that glorious orgasm.

His body emptied.

His heart filled.

And he knew he’d never be the same again. Leaving her was going to kill a piece of him, and he knew it.

On that reservation, he’d found a miracle, and no way of making it his.

God, but his life sucked so badly.

As she was laying above him, Caspian used his whole body and all of his strength to slide them up the bed, and to the pillows. There, he reached for a blanket and covered them both.

As she slipped off of his body, she nuzzled into his side, spent, and exhausted.

And that’s when he felt it.

Wetness.

The whole earlier conversation with the Blackhawks came back, and he’d realized he’d not put on a condom.

Fuck.

He hadn’t even thought about one.

“Rayna, protection,” he said, feeling like an idiot for not bagging up.

Without a word, at first, she put her fingertips over his lips as she relaxed into his body.

“Shhhhh, birth control,” she muttered as she felt his whole body relaxing. “We’re safe.”

That was all he had to hear.

Reaching over, he flipped the light switch, making the room dark.

Caspian never slept with a woman all night long. Most of the time, he fucked, and got out so the awkward morning wouldn’t be a problem.

Only, he wasn’t thinking about that.

He was thinking about her leg over his, and her head on his shoulder.

And how nice if felt for the first time in his life not to feel like he didn’t fit in.

Because he did.

Now, he had to hope a miracle happened, and Elizabeth didn’t solve this case.

Because he didn’t want to go home.

Caspian was curious enough that he wanted to stay.

With her.
