I just look at him like he’s crazy, “Why would it affect me at all? I don’t give a shit what she says.”

His lips roll in, but he turns the car off and opens his door anyway. I sit in the front seat with my arms crossed until heopens the door for me. Apparently, it’s possible to have child locks installed on the passenger door. He’d done it mid-week when I refused to let him open my car door for me.

See…crazy.

Ignoring his offered hand like usual, I get out of the car and swing my backpack over my shoulder and hold onto it with a death grip to keep him from carrying it for me. Nic races up the stairs and holds the door open for me.

I can’t see anyone when I walk into the house, but I can hear the shouting. “I won’t have you moving whores into the house with my daughter!” a high-pitched voice yells.

Nic’s face darkens, and I put my hand on his arm. No telling what this guy would do if he actually got mad. Pretty sure he would be worse than his brother, who has a penchant for pointing guns at people. “It’s fine. Doesn’t bother me,” I tell him.

Honestly, it doesn’t. Some drama is worth the free rent. I’ve got all my responsibilities paid for. All I’m currently worried about is school and my clingy kidnappers. I’ve never been so relaxed in my life. If being called a whore by the woman who raises Ava half the time is the price I have to pay, I can live with that.

Nic grabs my hand and leads me through the entryway. In the living room, we find Vin standing at full height looking at a beautiful woman with narrowed eyes. When he sees us in the doorway his eyes soften in a way that has my stomach clenching.

Momzilla spins to see us too. She’s really pretty. Her features are so similar to the sweet girl I met the other day that it’s a little jarring to see such toxicity basically seeping out of her pores. “This is the slut you’ve had around my daughter?” Her eyes zero in on the hand Nic is still holding. “Are you both fucking her?!” Her face turns red at that. “I won’t have my child around this!”

Vin crosses the room to stand behind me. His arms wrap around my chest like we’re long-lost lovers or some shit like that. The man is good with his hands, but not good enough that I’d be willingly used as a pawn in his baby mama drama. “You’ve forgotten yourself, Ivy. You don’t get to make decisions on what happens in my home. You’ve already been warned about what will happen if you try to keep Ava away from me again. Your current willingness to toe the line is the only reason the kindness I’ve given has been afforded to you. Do not forget who I am, or what I am willing to do to those who oppose me.”

His voice is dark and dangerous, and I’m not even mad about the baby mama drama because I’m too busy chastising my vagina. We do not get wet for men who may or may not be threatening to kill the mother of their child. I think being kidnapped by the two sexiest men I’ve ever seen has broken something fundamental in my brain.

Why did I waste all that time reading the classics for English class when I could have been reading dark romance to prepare myself for this kind of thing?

Ivy’s lip curls, but she doesn’t say anything in response. Her heels click against the floors a little too loudly as she heads to the door. It slams behind her, and Nic lets out a soft whistle. “That went better than I expected.”

My head slowly turns toward him so I can stare at him. “Better than you expected? Pretty sure he just threatened to kill her. What the fuck were you expecting? Actual murder?”

Nic nods his head slowly, “Yeah, pretty much.”

I sigh and slump my shoulders… or I would if they weren’t still being held by a legit psycho. “Get the fuck off me. I’ve got some homework I need to do.”

I shrug out of his hold and walk to the room I’ve been staying in. I’m not drunk enough to deal with their shit today. Maybe I can convince Nic to make me a Cucumber Elderflower Collins with vodka. It’ll have to be Tito’s though, not any weird fancy shit that’s so strong airplanes could use it as fuel.

There’s a knock at the door a while later, after I’ve finally gotten into my Econ assignment for next week. The knock is progress though, and nobody barges in, so they get extra points. “Come in.”

The door swings open, and I’m surprised to see both Nic and Vin. Usually, it’s just Nic that comes to my room. Vin steps forward, “I’m sorry about Ivy. She has never been happy about boundaries after we broke up.”

My brows furrow, “Okay… You don’t need to apologize. She didn’t bother me.”

“Then why were you upset?” Nic asks, crossing the room to sit on the edge of my bed.

Vin’s watching me closely, waiting for my answer as well. I guess we need to have this conversation anyway. I turn away from the desk, so I don’t have to keep craning my neck in their directions.

“Listen, thanks for the apology, I guess. Just don’t bring me into your drama next time. All of that has nothing to do with me. I’m not your girlfriend. She obviously knows what you do. You could have just told her the truth. I have no false assumptions that anything more than a few good fucks will happen between the three of us. So, save yourself the trouble and set the record straight.”

Nic sits up straighter, “But…”

Vin cuts him off, “No false assumptions, hmm?”

I frown at that, not understanding what he means. “Look, I don’t do relationships. If there’s one thing my messed-up childhood taught me, it’s that men can’t be trusted, especially with your heart. So, no. I have no fantasies of us running off into the sunset and living happily ever after.”

“You do realize you’ve been kidnapped and have no authority to make decisions, right?” Vin asks, stepping forward to look down his nose at me.

Rolling my eyes, I lean back, “Exactly, so I’ve given up the hope of finding anyone-night stands. So… I’ll just have to fuck you two. Nic said it was his responsibility to provide all my needs.” I look up at Vin with a smirk. “Are you planning to meet all my needs too?”

He leans down to my ear, “Don’t worry, little hostage, I plan to do whatever I want with you.”

I swallow, not sure how to tell him that what I asked and what he said were two very different things. Vin stands to his full height and grabs his brother by the arm and tugs him out of the room behind him. Well, I guess that ends that argument. Besides, it would be a lie if I said I wasn’t curious to see what he wants to do with me.
