He chuckles but then gurgles blood again from it. The smell of the dried blood is starting to get to me and I have to breathe through my mouth. “You’re just going to kill me anyways. Why wait? Put a bullet in my head and get it over with. Are you expecting me to repent or something? I’m not going to do that. I don’t fucking owe you anything.”

My blood boils and I try to not punch him across the face. That is exactly what he wants. He wants me to kill him so that he doesn’t have to spill his guts. “Who helped you?” I implore.

“Like fucking hell I would tell you. You’re just going to kill me anyways.”

I walk away from him trying to calm down. “Smokey, just fucking tell me!” I yell at him.

“I’m not tellin’ you shit, man. You want to know, you’re going to have clean house. Your reach isn’t as far as you thought. You don’t have as much power as you wanted. Am I right? Or do you want me tell you about Dana and J.J.? You want me to tell you what happened?”

I kick my foot out and knock his chair backwards. It falls on the floor with a thud and the satisfying sound of his head bouncing off the concrete floor, makes me happy. “Start talking, mother fucker.”

I had met Dana when we were in high school. We had that kind of relationship where we would just fuck whenever we wanted and it was hot. We’d skip school to be together and fuck in the back of my dad’s station wagon. It was hot. That was until she started telling me what was happening at home. Her dad was in The Plague and started pimpin’ her out to pay for his drugs.

“She came to me when she found out she was pregnant and told me she didn’t want to have your bastard kid. Asked me what to do. I told her to abort. She didn’t want to.”

“Why wouldn’t you come to me and tell me this?” I yell at him. I’m standing over his body that is still bound to the chair but his back is on the ground. “We were friends, man.”

He rolls his head to look at me through his bruised and swollen face. “Because, she was pregnant with my kid. She was only fucking you because she knew you were going to be president. Like you could have kept her happy, man.”

My foot kicks out and I kick him in his stomach. He curls around his stomach as much as he can but he can’t. “Start talkin’. I want to know everything!”

“Uh, prez. You need to come inside.”

I turn on my heels and see Half Ball staring at me. His face is still swollen from his time with Big Sir but he’s healing as good as he can. “What’s goin’ on now?” I yell.

“It’s Q Ball and Chantal. She’s not in your room and he’s taken off. He left his cut on the bar with a note to you.”

I look down at Smokey who is smiling a devious smile. “My plans are working out.”

“What did you do?” I say to him.

“Did you think that you could bring a hacker in here and expect us to not know about it? You think you could get one over me? You’re as stupid as your fucking father.”

“Priorities, man. He will be here when you come back. We need to go,” Half Ball says to me.

Rabies comes running into the warehouse and stops on his heels. “What the fuck happened in here?” He demands as he looks at the mess of Smokey.

“Watch him!” I command and then walk out of the warehouse. It’s a quick trip to the clubhouse and I don’t even say a word to Half Ball who is trying hard to figure out what is going on. “Until I come back, I want every brother in here and I want everyone waiting for me. Do you get me?” I state.

“Yeah, man. I will get everyone here. Where is Q Ball and Chantal? Where do you think they went?”

“I know where they are.”

I just hope I get there soon enough to make sure that Q Ball doesn’t fucking kill Chantal.

Chantal

I’m sitting in the backseat of Q Ball’s car and I’m looking at everything that we pass. Any significant landmark or any road sign will work for when I get out of here. I need to make sure that I do it discreetly or Q Ball will totally catch on. He’s not as dumb as I thought he was.

“Why did you hack into my computer?” He asks as he signals to turn left down Lafayette St.

Okay, Lafayette St. leads to Main St. which will take me back to where I was at. I categorize every place that we pass in hopes that I can remember for when the time comes. There will be a time.

Q Ball must have gotten pissed off at my lack of answering because he growls at me. “It’s rude when you don’t fucking answer people, Chantal.”

“I’m sorry, what did you ask?”

“Fucking bitch. How did you hack my computer? Why?”
