Ralf grunts and pushes his hand into my shoulder to get me moving quicker. Is he in a hurry to get somewhere? Jesus.

I have the duffle bag full of cocaine in my hands and I’m waiting for the money to be given to me. The guy has a different duffle bag in his hand and he’s glaring at me.

“Where’s Raul? I have his shit he ordered,” he says.

“What shit did he order?” Ralf asks.

Is this where Raul has been getting his new stuff at? He’s been taking from Lucian’s suppliers this whole time? With my new revelation, I can’t wait to tell Lucian when I see her later.

“You know, the angel dust he wanted.”

“Yeah! Of course. Thanks for reminding us,” I blurt out. I want that bag to give to Lucian when we get back.

Ralf takes the bag and throws it over his shoulder. “He paid for it, right?”

The guy nods handing me the other bag. I walk over to the table in the middle of the empty warehouse to look at the money. I can’t count this much money in this short of time!

“Use the cash counter over there. It’s quicker,” the guy states. “Have you seen Raul lately? I’m surprised he didn’t come get the dust himself.”

“I haven’t seen him in a few days. I’m surprised he didn’t show up to Lucian’s memorial or anything,” Ralf states.

I start running the bills through the cash counter after I click how many bills I want in a bundle and turn on the UV light. I don’t want to mess up the first drop I’m in by accepting money that isn’t real.

“Why you keep looking to the left, bro?” Ralf demands.

Quickly, I stuff the bills into the bag and zip it up. I’m grabbing for my gun in a matter of seconds to make sure I’m ready for whatever is about to happen.

“Mother fucker!” Raul growls from the left side.

“You set me up?” Ralf asks the guy who gave us the money.

Raul comes charging at me at full force knocking me down against the ground. “You take my place? You fuckin’ asshole! You think she’s going to fuck you? Ha-ha. She’s not going to want anything to do with you because you’re a pussy.”

I landed on the duffle bag full of money so my fall is cushioned.

He swings and checks my chin. “Give me the money!”

“No!” I reply.

I have my gun in my hand until Raul sees it. He grabs it out of my hand and has it aimed at me but I kick him just right. He falls to the ground from the force of my kick. I got him right in the solar plex.

With the wind knocked out of Raul, I turn my focus onto Ralf. The dealer has Ralf in a chokehold and I aim my gun. It happens so fast.

One minute, I’m standing there. The next minute, a gun goes off. I look at the gun in my hand and realize it was me that pushed the trigger on it.

The dealer falls to the ground in a heap. I turn to make sure Raul is still on the ground. Why would he want to make this easy on me? Why would anyone want to help out Mason? The asshole ran away.

I shot him. I shot the dealer guy. It was me that did it. The horror of knowing that I killed someone has me choking on fear. Fear of getting caught. Fear of getting in trouble. It is all too much.

Ralf wheezes and rubs his neck. “Thanks, man. You can work in my crew whenever you want.”

I nod and make sure I have all three of the bags. The original one with the cocaine, the money and the angel dust.

I need to get out of here.
