He shakes his head. “I hate how cranky you are in the mornings.”

It is my turn next at the coffee counter. My mind is needing adoppioshot of espresso right now to work through what I did last night.

“Doppio, please,” I ask the barista behind the counter.

“Did you hear what happened last night?” Iago whispers harshly in my ear.

I look over at him with tired eyes. My eyes are barely open and I stifle a yawn. “You didn’t change your clothes?” I suggest as I look him up and down. He is literally wearing the same thing I last saw him in. “If I’m not mistaken, it looks like you’re limping,” I taunt.

I didn’t detect a limp from Iago. To be fair, I didn’t really pay attention to his walking with my brain set on coffee.

My overly flamboyant friend waves from his wrist at me. “Girl, please. You aren’t the only one who got fucked stupid.”

The barista is handing me my drink with her eyes widened. She is staring at Iago’s crazy ass with a slack jaw. “It’s on the house,” she whispers and walks away.

I reach into my pocket and fish out a couple of bills to throw on the counter. After my debt has been paid, I chug my coffee in seconds.

“What did you want to tell me?”

“The guy I fucked last night told me he is part of the sting to take over this ski lodge.”

My heart pounds in my chest. What would he say if I told him I potentially broke one of the rules we have been forced to follow all along? Never let the enemy in. He would disown me. Would he?

“If I tell you something, you promise not to tell anyone?” I whisper harshly to him and tilt my head to the side to signal I want to get out of the main area.

He places his hand over his heart in mock honesty. “Of course, I do. I would never betray your trust!”

I nod. “I think I slept with one of the members, too. My dad called me this morning and told me about how Felipe is missing and mentioned a name. It was the same name as the man I slept with. Do you think it could be the same guy?”

“What was his name?” Iago asks with complete interest. He’s not an asshole, but he loses focus quickly if the story isn’t that good.

“Octavious.”

There is a gasp behind us and a crash of something.

Chapter Thirteen

Octavious

“Has my package been delivered?” I ask Alek while staring down at the stupid idiot in front of me.

He still hasn’t broken. He still hasn’t said a damn word about why he is here and who he is working for. Normally, I can get it out of them quickly, but this one is tough.

I have figured it out, though. Who would be the number one person who wanted in on my operation? The Baros Family. Alki has been dying to wipe my family off the playing field to keep his high ranking status.

Alki has been under a lot of investigations in the past but has gotten away with plenty of crimes. The man is impossible to convict because of the games he plays. I’m all for bribing court officials, but he has this act played out. Alki has the whole country thinking he’s a saint because he funds all of these charities.

The Baros Family has won awards for this shit.

“Uh, boss,” Miklos calls out from the corner of the room.

Miklos is my Hungarian stow away. I ran into him when I was busy smuggling my fenced in jewels into Hungary and he helped me bring them in with no problems. Since then, he has worked for my administration with no problems. I like the fact he is loyal to me and not his country. It makes having him around a lot easier.

Greek mafia families have connections with all sorts of crime families in different countries, but the one that has proven to be profitable to me is the one in Hungary.

It also helps the fact that he is a computer genius.

“What?” I call back with my eyes on my prisoner.
